Great stuff, Rob!! You're the guru of rust and wrecks, no doubt about it!! You just need someone to build the tracks for you ;D Cheers JT

Thanks fellas, the comments are most appreciated.
yeah John, the tracks slow me down, and are not fun to do...boring really.
I did some minor work on the JP and Grille last night but that's as far as I got. Still planning out the Panther painting and weathering. Don't want to rush that one. Decided also to take down the wrecked KV and do something with that too...she has to go, too many other KV's in line to be built.
I may have to bring my PZ IV and Stug kits to the shed, I am dieing to build those, but have to wait.

John I had started the Tiger months ago but lost the mojo because the kit is an old dog. I would rather build the Dragon Mid version but it's hard to find, and expensive. The Tamiya kit is better than this one, but not by much. I had planned a full interior using the kit parts but they really suck. I'm just adding the turret interior and you can't see much so no biggie. I would use the Verlinden resin interior but it would be a big waste on this kit, so it will be used another time. I am not going all out on it either, OOTB pretty much and will concentrate on the painting, which is why I am doing this Tiger.

Here you go Andy, the Acadamy Tiger I Mid. Got the turret interior done and have added a bit of battle damage to the front and the killer shot to the rear. Here we can see the big difference in the OLD Acadamy kit and a newer Dragon kit. Gonna get some of the exterior stuff done, starting with the rear. Will use some misc PE I have lying around.

I really like how you created the damages... I haven't done that before and I assume you used a hot object to make it melt just little around the holes?

Thanks fellas.
Andy, yep you guessed right.
John the kit is from 1996 and shows. I used to never build Acadamy because most of their kits were Tamiya molds with some changes. The interior really sucks. Most parts have bad ejector pin marks/holes, they don't line up, no location points so you have to guess were the parts go....etc etc etc. The turret interior is just to have something there when I leave the hatches open. Good thing is you can't really see much.
I ended up swapping the mantlet and barrel with one from a Dragon kit. This Acadamy kit is the early, not a mid like I said before. I'm going for a Kursk Tiger so other parts may get switched out too. Update tonight or tomorrow.

Thanks Spud. Hard to find images of Tigers in Kursk that show the details between the early and mid Tigers. Will also check into some Archer markings for this one...and maybe another Tiger for later on.

Wonder why you couldn't find it...buried under 20 or so kit's strewn all over your desk!!! Probably packed away in the shed!! This barrel looks just as good bud!!! Keep going!!!!

LOL, yeah T, has to be somewhere. The Dragon barrel is just as good so it stays. Speaking of being burried, just searched for 20 minutes looking for the instructions to the Dragon Tiger...and my Stug and PZ IV's. Finally found them, yep buried.. Time to clean house again. LOL.
Looking at the Feifle aircleaners from the Acad. kit, I think I will swap them for the Dragon ones, looks much better. Need to clean some whels, then put the fruit-loops ( Fruils right T..LOL) together. Will also do a google search for Kursk Tigers to see what I find. I'd like to go with the red-brown over gelb camo, but have to do the green squigglies over gelb. Thinking of the 2nd or 3rd SS at Kursk !!! Helpful tips or help in this area would be appreciated since I don't know much about Tigers. I do have the Spielberger book..

LOL yeah John, you see a kit and look at the contents , then get all these ideas and next thing you know , your cutting off and gluing parts....I have LOTS of started kits like this. I stop myself , but too late. I have a box with around six or seven taped up or glued up hulls....should finish those some day too
