Thank you kindly fellas, just having a bit of fun with this one and trying new and old techniques I haven't used for a while. Couldn't sleep late last night, what else is new, so I hit the bench for an hour and applied another layer of effects. I also added some more micro chipping. Here are two teaser pics. Next will be more effects using oils and enamels, then back to acrylics. The lighter effects and rain marks above were done with AK acrylic dust color thinned and used like oils.

Gotta say that I like the un-destroyed vehicle trend you're on right now.

Thanks fellas. Marc I'm trying to get back to the more intact models, some knocked out but more intact like the Tiggy.
jackwagon I thinned them maybe 30% water, there abouts. I like to apply light misted coats to be able to vary the opacity as seen on the Tiger. I wanted a dust coat but still showing some of the camo underneath.
OK gonna go work on the rear section with chipping and other weathering effects. By doing one or two sections at a time you can vary the effects and keep it from being too uniform. Then I may work on the wheels or exhausts.

Great dusting Rob, you're right on the light colors, they're difficult to combine with dust, but you did it flawless !

Cheers matey - I too really like yer (temporary) departure from the all-out wrecks - don't get me wrong yer wrecks are eye-poppers and no mistake but I think yer in-service vehicles allow a much wider range of skills to be displayed LOL, thanks jackwagon. I've been doing more of these as of late as I slowly got tired of the rust buckets. I'd like to do more intact vehicles and bases, but concentrating more on the weathering aspect of both. Thanks for dropping in fellas. Charging the camera (time for new batteries, these don't hold the charge anymore) and will take a few pics of the progress so far.

Looks good. I am wondering about the sides of the turret near the fire - are you going to do something there?

Thanks John, and yes that will either get charred, or just soot. Was a short fire amybe from lack of fuel, so there isn't much that will get burned on this one.

Really coming together now Rob and she's a beauty! A small suggestion in case you haven't already considered it...the left side Feifel filter tubing is made out of rubber and some, but not all, of it is over the exposed grating that's showing fire damage and oxidation. Even if the fire was short-lived, it would've been hot...are you planning to damage some areas of the tubing at all or leave it as-is?

LOL, Bill I didn't think about that when I built the model. I knew it was metal re-enforced rubber from the start, but got carried away once the painting started...lol Been thinking the best way to deal with this..Guy eye there brother. Might go repaint the Panther now....OR... pull out my scope and take the night off from the bench !!!

If it was enough to melt but not burn it away completely you'd have remnants of the tubing on both ends with the middle damaged/missing but that would be pretty hard to replicate at this stage I'm guessing. Get out the scope and have some fun, you've earned it!

Glad you like them exhausts fellas, was fun and easy to do. Bill I'll see what I can do. I did have fun with the scope tonight. Got to see M51 the Whirlpool Galaxy for a while, then Saturn was high enough to check out for an hour. The view through the scope was a lot clearer than the pic with the iphone. Made of the Cassini division and shadow on the planet...fun and relaxing.
