So, what you are looking at is something a LOT of detail modelers forget or didn't know existed.... This is the transmission housing that runs the length of the interior... that part is easy.... the thingee with the foot plates is the "Commanders Foot Pedestal". What it does I am not quite sure...it MAY have the power to traverse the turret. I see in my Panzer III Ausf J/L book it has what looks like a small motor? Anyway here is my start to this:

Nice!! Can never have enough details!! Yeah, I am thinking you are correct in that the pedals do control the turret traverse. I would have thought that would have been the gunners job, but the Pz. III is not quite the size of some of the big cats! In either case...it looks awesome!

Todd you are right, I would have "thunk" it was the gunners role as well.
Anyway, I have been mired in the stinking prospect of doing an interior WHICH I didn't really want to do. BUT you can see much more through the open hatches than I originally planned so..........

Stunning details PJ! I wouldn't worry too much about "dingbats"! Your work hows enough to prove it's validity! All day long at an AMPS event (armor specific) this would be received very well!

Doesn't IMPS mean International Plane Modelers Society?

So, in this update, the turret and gun system have been joined and then painted Panzer Grey. There is a "lil" boo Boo I have to fix before weathering and then the over-spray of Dark Yellow.

Thanks gents.
Todd, I hope the "mock ups" are going over board. They help me visualize the next step or steps..... As you know scratch building is it's own animal. I guess each builder goes abooot it a lil differently. Mine is to constantly check fitting, and alignment. I don't mean this disrespectfully, but I don't think OOB builders can full grasp the dynamic. I know that when I was a 1/35th guy with all the "bells buzzers and whistles" that were available to me at the time I couldn't grasp or appreciate what it takes to build a model from scratch.
Anyway, THANKS again
