Even more relevant I suppose given recent events Bob! There's been talk of raising the whole ship, but don't know if that will ever happen.

Can't see them raising the ship unless it's turned into a channel hazard. Between the battle damage, the scuttling charges, and sitting in warm ocean water for almost 80 years, I can't imagine it would be a worthwhile venture. The only thing it's got going for it is that since the crew was pulled off of it, it's not a war grave.

Masterfully done brother, don't think I'll be doing something like this for the forseeable future as the 1/72 Gato I tangled with drove me batty enough
Regards, Mark

Thanks Mark! I've often been tempted by the 1/72 sub kits out there but in the end it's always been their finished size for display that's caused me to not pull the trigger. Having done a 1/700 ship, I think 1/350 is about the right scale for me that balances out the 'size vs insanity' equation...at least for now!

Joe, thanks for the comments, love the 'special' smilies! Joel, talk about a monster! I've thought about it to be sure...just like I've thought about the 1/200 Bismarck...

I went thru whole ten pages and it was worth every minute. I only can say this... you have made German engineers so proud for all of your detail work on the ship!
