Todd, THANK YOU once more............. Here is a couple of shots of the spent round casings. They started life from plastic tube (that is at least 30 years old so please don't ask me what when or who made it). Then I filled each casing with solid plastic rod. Then took Grandt Line washers, added one to each to format the rim on the casing......

Funny thing I thought about your gatling gun over the weekend when I watched the movie 'Magnificent Seven'. The one that was released last year and it was pretty good. You will see plenty action of gatling gun but its a different model even tho.

Todd, Ray, Deaf... MANY THANKS..... Deaf, I believe that was the Civil War version...... Which, heck they are close, it's mostly the ammo can and barrel configuration that makes the 1880's variant . Thanks for the lead thou.
So here is an update to the gun. Been working on the crank handle and elevation crank... they both still have Aero Dope on them.....

Leon, You Sir are far far to kind.
Here's a big plug..... as the "kids" say Big PROPS go out to Billie Jean. She bailed me out by reproducing wheels for me. After I "screwed the pooch" on them

Looking good, still, PJ! Something might seem small, but it i the bigger picture that improves each time you add them! Kudos to BJ for the wheels! The modeling Gods work in mysterious ways!

Well HUGE THANKS go out to Panzer Concepts, (billiejean), She replicated some new wheels for me, that is after I butchered up the originals. If you need casting work and she has openings, Panzer Concepts is the way to go.

So, I got motivated and been hitting the Gatling Guns details. Now as you out there in "model land" know, just because I build something in "X" scale, doesn't mean that the details on the 1/1 scale original translate to being shrunk down to my "X" scale. Most experienced modelers know that sometimes due to this loss in shrinking, details have to be added. Now how this relates to the Gatling-gun is, that i have added details that are not "historically" accurate. But are necessary for the model to be symmetrical. Those who have followed my posts know that I am a big fan of the late Shep Paine. Shep spoke and wrote about the concept of "balance versus symmetry". His builds represent this concept. It's one of the lessons I learned from him....... So here are shots on the details I added, including a ejector cover that I am betting isn't anywhere near historically accurate but add symmetry.................

Thanks Joel. I don't think so, see I wasn't 100 percent accurate when labeling it 1/15th scale...it's more like 1/13th....and that means no figures are available. But i am working on the concept of the Regimental Guide-on, with my friends initials.....

"I wasn't 100 percent accurate when labeling it 1/15th scale...it's more like 1/13th....and that means no figures are available."
People come in various sizes: there's plenty of 1/12th scale figures out there, some should have conversion potential.

M

Been cleaning the Gatling-gun, and finally primed it with gunmetal grey. Also added a tow hook for the chain. To the IPMSer's out there, I had to pull the design out of my a$$ because there isn't a whole lot out there on post American Civil War Tow Chains..........................
