Hi Everyone. well I started this thread in scratch built and converted models but it has become something else so I have moved it to here so I will bring you up to speed with the model and idea. The idea is based on three images:- Matador truck converted to a flat bed and I'n bits . also another one in a bad state now I had a body and nothing to do with it , but wait look what I found :- then I needed a theme well easy need a old taty buildings, workshop and these outside getting rusty and slimy with people walking past . so thats the idea

Hi All so having primed the models and done the base coats I started the chipping and painting of the basic vehicle so here goes having used hair spray and chipping medium I let it dry for 10 minutes the painted the basic colours so now I painted the truck chassis in black and then highlighted in royal blue truck cab internal light grey , then ivory and black floor , Cab exterior Light blue , darker blue and white top added a name didn't work so will remove it later so now chipped them after they dried body well I sprayed the body Vallejo bronze green with Vallejo game air dark green over the top lightly just to change it slightly in some places here they are a together next step leave them 24hrs then varnish the n leave for 48 before I carry on weathering . hope you like it so far Ossie

Hi Everyone Well just a little update for this afternoon , I have been working on the two seats to be fitted in the rear on the body and tonight I will be working on the tail gate and the inside of the body so I then can clue the top to the base then complete the outside of the body. thank you both for the nice comments , have to point out it is painted mainly in Vallejo but I have started using Scale 75 paints and I must say I do like the matt finish they give as well.

Hi Everyone Gents sorry for not doing any model making recently but one has had a angiogram (all clear thank god) but has limited my model making and now I can start again so what have i done . Well I think the cab interior is almost complete. So will add the drivers bottom half of his window and glue the tow halves together. I am unsure weather to make the inside look dusty using artist pastil chalks or before I clue not together or afterwards , I may leave it afterwards along with the green tinge for slimy green moss , old newspaper etc. Anyway hope you like it so far still got loads to do but getting there . Dont hesitate to ask any questions or any comments welcome Thank you Ossie

Fantastic idea, painting and weathering. Although only three reference pics, they are more than enough to get the mojo going. Really makes me want to get back to doing some rust buckets again.

Hi Everyone The two vehicles are now painted they just need a base and then the dust and leaves etc added when they are attached to the base. the model has been painted in both Vallejo and Scale 75 paints I find they compliment each other and the matt finish of the Scale 75 paints is awesome , Please all comments welcomed hope you like it Ossie P.S Do I need to move the model to dioramas now I start building the building and base?

I'm really liking all the weathering techniques that I'm seeing used with this truck. Something that's been sitting long enough to look abandoned/ neglected should have a flat tire (or two) but nevertheless this is a great replication.
