D Type Jag build.

Ok gang, this is a project in work that I started about two weeks ago, while waiting for glue/paint to dry on another build. I am going to turn this XK SS back into a proper D Type Jag. Shouldn't be too difficult to pull of. Follow along at your own peril folks!

This is where its at right now. Filled all the not needed holes for bumpers and such and started getting the body parts to fit/line up. Its not much now but, I'm just getting started...Enjoy!!

Have the body pretty much ready for the mods needed. Have to make a Drivers fairing and re-do my cockpit Tonneau cover. Got some preliminary engine work done too...Enjoy! and thanks for looking...

Looks like everything is off to a great start with this one Pete!! I'm looking VERY much forward to seeing what you do with that engine.

Not much to show today (didn't get much done) But I'm makin spark plugs! Their front and center on this engine, cant ignore em.
Got plug wires on the engine as well. (don't worry, it will be much tidier when its all finished) They should be black/cotton wrapped but...Had to spice up the visual a bit for this build. Not a lot of color in this engine compartment. Mainly bare metal in several shades, tones and textures.

Leaving ones keys in the car is a bad habit...LOL

Well, I shot the poor bugger who stole my car out of my driveway in Phoenix back in '95, no kiddin. Got the car back the next day and the investigator said it'll never go to the DA. I recon times have changed, but that guy won't be stealing cars from me, not a chance, HA!

Man that is crazy right there!! My blue 67 Coupe almost got stolen once while I was on base at Fort Hood. I spent the next 4 nights sleeping in the back seat of the car. Glad you got your ride back!!

Had to draw down on a pair of hoodlums once with my 45... Never saw two guysrun so fast in my life!!

Got some work done on the D Types induction yesterday evening...Throttle linkage, fuel line and some nice machined funnels from Detail Master.

Ok gang, Build update: Got the hard stuff done on the engine. fuel line/throttle linkage and return springs are all DONE. Yes, gotta straighten a few of the funnels out. No biggie! Got one of the partial interior for ya too...Enjoy!

Made a bit of progress this week. Got a few sub assemblies ironed out. Now I just have to figure out how to get the engine and the front framework installed at the same time. (when that time comes that is)

This is coming together mighty fine so far Pete!! I hear you about when it comes time to put everything together after all the work that you're putting into this. Sometimes I cringe at the thought of final assembly time. More often than not it turns out just fine so I'm thinking that'll be the case here. Love that IP buddy!!
