If you click edit on your post a robust tool bar shows up (that doesn't appear in quick reply - but does appear when you click reply or edit). There's a icon for ' insert video' - looks like one of those movie director scene clacker things. Just post your url in the box and you're good to go. It is a link to a Fotki album of the crash site,The first H in HTTP was missing, works now

A few more. I never did get a decent photo of any of the 911s or the McLaren. The McLaren blew up pretty spectacularly near the end of the race, so they had a full course caution that bunched everyone up for the last 20 minutes. That was fun to watch! The #45 Lamborghini lost the rear part of the body on the second lap, but it didn't seem to slow him down any. It's laying in the grass in the background. Ben

Ben - great pics. Bet that was a good time. Stik - They are so elegant in flight and so ungainly sitting around. It really is like the cartoons out here - roadrunners, cayotes, saguaros and vultures circling overhead.

Those shifts into first and third must be very hard on the knuckles! lol!! No kidding. I almost waited around for the guy to ask him about things like that shifter but I had some honey-do errands to run

Yeah, when I see the buzzards cruising at low altitude, and the sun shines just right through their wings, they do take on the look of the Thunderbird motif on the bottom of the team aircraft. They are majestic in flight… but damn ugly on the ground.

We have a lot of Turkey and smaller Black Vultures here. There is a large rabbit and squirrel population in our neighborhood, and my neighbors drive too fast and don’t pay attention to what’s in front of them, so the vultures eat well. They’ve learned to drag the carcass off of the road so they can eat undisturbed. They also aren’t afraid of humans and will let you get pretty close to them. Not too close of course, because they’re very good at tearing off chunks of meat and I happen to be made of meat. They do have pretty iridescent feathers.

We’ve decided to take a different route home from vacation, so I won’t get to go back and take pics, but parked in the lot of a hole-in-the-wall auto repair shop out in the middle of nowhere in eastern NC is a 89-90 Lotus Esprit. We drove past it last year and I saw a familiar shape under a car cover, with a little red paint and distinctive wheels peeking out from under it. We went by too fast to get a good look, but I was 99% sure that’s what it was. My long-suffering wife just rolled her eyes and muttered something about nerds. This year, I was looking for it and it was still parked by the road, with the cover gone, looking like it had spent more than a year outside. It looked pretty sad, and my wife suggested I stop and offer them a couple thousand bucks for it. I reminded her of the saying, there’s nothing more expensive than a cheap Porsche, and that’s doubly true for a cheap Lotus. “Lots Of Trouble Usually Serious.” I still love those cars. Just from a non-owner distance. Ben

There must be an exercise going on at RAF Valley here in North Wales as I've seen a lot of low level stuff flying about over the last week or so. KC-135 low down in the mountains... Airbus A400M Atlas coming in over the beach... Cheers!

Some nice WW I giant scale airplanes were at our R/C field this weekend. The Nie 28 is about 7 foot span, the Spad was a first flight and is 1/3 scale.

John, they are IC engines. The Nieuport is glow fuel, pretty sure the SPAD is gasoline oil mix. You can see a faint trail on this photo.
