Man Pete...this is really looking good, Bud. Great job on the masking and paint. Your build is really getting my juices going to build the 24th scale! Very inspiring for sure.

Aww shucks fellas! Thanks for the kind words. This is a bucket list build for me so, its a bit of a labor of obsession. Its funny though. You discover just how not symmetrical a model body is when your trying to get the lines all centered and in the proper proportions. I spent an hour just trying to get the lines on the roof to look like they go up the middle. The door openings are not the same size. This completely throws off the stripe and the small portion of it that ends up on the door top but! I got it ironed out well enough.
Yes Tamiya contour tape 2MM and their mask sheeting to cover the whole car as well as Tamiya masking tape sheets for the roundels. That other orange tape is from Hobby lobby...Its terrible, don't buy it! It only will stick to Tamiya tape (barely) but will not let anything else stick to it, at all. It barely sticks to its self for that matter but, it will adhere to fresh paint without any fuss. I am trying to use it up...The paint used was Scale finishes Gulf oil Blue and Orange base coat paint. The white was Tamiya gloss white decanted from a rattle can and shot through an airbrush. The black was Tamiya black LP paints laid down with a small striping sword. It will all get top coated with Tamiya TS 13 decanted form a rattle can and shot through an airbrush. Once again, thanks for the kind words gang! Pete

Once again, thanks for the kind words gang! Pete Man that's crazy about the door openings not being the same size. The only saving grace is that this is a larger scale build so everything won't be as far off as if it would be in the smaller 1/24-1/25 scale offerings. Thanks for the heads up about the orange tape from HL too. I almost bought a roll of it a few weeks ago. Keep 'er comin' Pete. This one is gonna be a stunner bro.

Ask and so shall you receive Joe!! LOL Yes, todays installment: More interior stuff and yes the body in final paint/decals...After drilling out the kit guage faces and painting the instrument panel and putting Molitow chrome on the bezels. I got the details done. There are buttons, toggle switches and light bulbs galore here. Not to mention a fuse box on the left side with ribbon fuses...Crazy right!? Don't mind the cloudiness on the guage faces, The clear was still drying when I took the pic... I got the PE door panels mounted on the inner doors as well...These things had a nasty curl to them (As do many of the large flat PE components in the KA set) I flattened them out by rubbing a round Exacto handle over the backsides of them a few times to relax em. Then glued them in palce... [img src="https://i.postimg.cc/sXNJs95X/DSCN6474.jpg" Paint is down, decals are on. Its all been cleared over and wetsanded flat. then a glamour (Fancy way of saying heavy) coat of clear was shot over it all one more time. It will get wetsanded one more time to make it perfectly flat, then polished out to perfection (Hopefully) No, there will not be any numbers placed in the roundels on this one. (To keep the purists at bay) Its just a Gulf oil liveried GT 40. I put a 6 on it, Now its the 68 LeMans winner but it cant be. That car was a late MK II with the wider rear track. Cant be the #9 car either for the same reason. Soo I will just gloss over that and let the purists scratch their collective heads...LOL I do build historically accurate models when the subject demands it, or the spirit moves me to do so. But, not this time! LOL. I am building this one for me, not for the show circuit or a museum. I need to do a just plain flat out Fun and I don't care about the history build once in a while...This is it. There is a LONG way to go on this one soo thanks for looking in and keep coming back, there will be more to come!

I love a busy cockpit/ interior Pete and that's exactly what you've done with this interior is make it look busy with all the details. You take just as much if not more time with the auto bodies of your builds and it definitely shows on this car. Flawless finish and shine!!
I completely understand and agree with the decision NOT to make this one historically accurate. I do the same in taking certain liberties with my auto builds. I reserve the accuracy attributes for my aircraft builds. It's as if we bind ourselves to a certain rule set when striving for accuracy as it's all subjective and tends to take the fun out of the build.
Anyways, this is turning out to be one of my favorite builds of yours Pete. I'll be a bit saddened when this build is over. Till then.....I'll be looking forward to each and every update.

The add-ons you have incorporated into the interior just add a bigger WOW effect to this entire build. You are knocking this one out of the park sir!

Ok gang! Back with an update! As you can tell by looking in the box...There ain't much left in it that gets used. Have much of the sub assemblies assembled and the remaining loose parts prepped and painted. Have a bunch of the PE stuff assembled and ready to go as well. Its down to the "Little things that make a big difference" Like, wiring and plumbing. Fittings nuts/bolts and all that stuff. Still have some cutting and buffing to do on the body (Darn thing is big) LOL. Lots of the details I like to add, have to be done as this monster is assembled so its going to be slooow and time consuming. That said here's a few pics of the finished parts and pieces for you to look at. The firewall is really where the details are going to be concentrated on this thing now. Six fuel pumps and they ALL have to be plumbed with lines and fittings BUT...Cant start on that till the main portion of the body is in place permanently. Its going to make things a challenge from here on out... Yeah , I had a little fun with the ignition coil too... Time to go eat dinner...Till next time!! Six fuel pumps???!! I've been working on cars for a LONG time and have never heard of such a thing Pete. It's a "Ford thing" I suppose but that would make things most difficult from a diagnosis standpoint if a fuel delivery concern ever presented itself. Progress is looking nothing short of stellar! BTW.....what's for dinner?

Thanks fellas! your too kind! Joe. Its a Lola thing. All the pumps didn't run at once. Two were boost just to get the fuel out of the tanks. And two were backups... I hope so Marcos!! If it comes together well enough, I may show it. it is quite the detail horse isn't it Gary!?
