Todays update: Managed to get it looking like a car finally. Still have a ways to go. Blacked out the head light/driving light coves today, I will clean up the tape lines with a brush and calle em good. Started getting all the jewelry squared away. Yes more stripped kit chrome. Engine compartment is darn near done, gotta put the hold down springs over the tail pipes and I'm calling it good. Its finally entering the home stretch. Have to iron out the window glass. It fits poorly...And get the front clip/rear engine cover dressed with all their little bits and pieces then I can put em to the body for good. Here's a few pics for ya!

Have to start getting ready for Rocon here on the 17th. Hopefully two more updates here for this build with the last one being the teaser before the finished build photo spread...Thanks for following along and stay tuned!

I've been following this thread from the start and I've got to say,it's just an amazing build. Probably one of the best I've ever seen. You Sir are a very talented modeler.🙂

Todays update. Well...Its done. Sorry I don't have a parting shot pic. Been kinda busy. Had the Rochester Model show Sunday. The Gt went along with a few others in the stable. All did well. Five first place finishes...The GT 40 Took first in its category...Unfortunately it was the only large scale build on hand. But... It also garnered "Best automotive" AND..."best in show" I was floored to say the least. I will post a bunch of finished pics once I take em. I don't have a large backdrop to shoot this monster against. Have to figure something out for the shoot. Hopefully by this Saturday/Sunday, I will post up finished pics. Sorry to keep all of you waiting though... Once again, Thank you to everyone who commented on this build. I really appreciate all the kind words. I hope you all had as much fun following along on this build as I did building the GT. I hope all of you got something out of it too.
I will post pics as soon as I can, I promise! Then I'm taking a break. This beast took a piece of my soul man!!!

It's always a good feeling to get recognition for a job well done on a model build and this one most certainly deserved that. What a cool journey you took us through to get to this magnificent result and a BIG congratulations goes out to you on this one Pete. Congrats! I was not surprised at all if your build will bring home a lot of gongs if you take it to many shows. It was really fun following your build and I hope your break will be not that long like mine which went on for five years!

No Marcos, I was at Rocon about three weeks ago though. Did ok too...Best automotive and best in show as well as a first in its category... There was one at classic plastic? You take any pics of it??
