Moving right along on the mirrors and managed to get the nasty spots taken care of. Today saw the fitting of the interior tub into the body and then the chassis into the body for a real live test run on the fit in regard to where I'm going to be from a stance standpoint. Looks like the dash hit the windshield which....while a bummer....can be fixed. I'll have to trim some off of the lower portion of the windshield and trim the dash some to make everything work out right like I did on my AMT Camaro. This is going to allow the interior tub to slide forward a bit and up into the body a tad bit more. I think I've still got around 1/8" lower to go to get everything to drop into the proper stance but the wheels and tire positions are right on in regard to being just right as far as in/out positioning goes relative to the wheel openings. I'm currently mocking up my other unpainted Corvette to see exactly where I'm going to have to trim the windshield at to make this all happen. Here's where we are currently:

So close to the finish line. The anticipation is killing me. You and me both brother. I have been on night shift at work now for the last couple of days so I've gotten alot done in regard to chassis, interior and body fit. I brought it to work with me tonight and just so happen to have had a little time set aside for it to correct these stance issues. Oh yeah. So close you can almost taste it now. That is beautiful Joe. Can’t wait to see the final. Hopefully it'll be in the next couple of weeks Kyle. It's at a point now that there's really not a whole lot left to do but I'm resisting the urge to be in a hurry with it. In any case, it should be wrapping up soon.

So glad to see you so close to putting the finishing touches on this one Joe. It is looking terrific so far. I'm anxious to see how your alterations come out looking in the final stance. Time to bring it home brother.

Time to bring it home brother. It's getting closer and closer every day Joe. I'm at that point now to where I want to hurry up and get this off of my bench to make room for that Ta-152 build BUT.....I'm resisting that urge because I've put too much work in this to flub it all up now. Thank you for the encouragement pal.

Yup. Take your time and get it right or you won't be happy with it. You've got all the time in the world. There's always going to be another build yelling for your attention.

'Preciate the words of encouragement from you as well Jeremy. We're gettin' there. I've got the short list goin' on now. 1. Decal and Clear the hood 2. Paint bottom of hood 3. Chrome front and rear bumpers and detail out the front one. 4. Paint all side marker lenses
5. Install the outside rearview mirror 6. Detail and install all emblems and badging I now have the stance exactly where I want it. Lemme tell ya.....it took some fancy foot work to pull this off because despite all of my test fitting along the way, things did NOT want to go according to plan.

You've got those tires tucked just right for the correct look. Mine stick out a tad too far. The color looks incredible. I think I'll toss mine in the trash now. When I moved the paint on this one crazed and turned dark. I have never had a paint job do this. I kinda hate it now. It looked okay when I got it first done. I should turn it into a barn find now.

Thank you all for the supportive and encouraging comments. I can't believe this one is now in the final stages of the building process. Feels like I've been married to it for 9 months. lol brandonk: I had my fair share of troubles with this kit in trying to get the right stance and it fought me all the way through to the final assembly of the chassis into the body. You've got NO kick coming on your Vette because this kit is NOT easy to build at all on a number of levels. What did help was the fact that I bought two kits and built one up without paint to have a heads up on alot of the issues going in mainly in the areas of stance and building obstacles along the way. I encourage you to give this one another "go" buddy.

Holy cow Joe!! It’s looking so good!! Nearly there now Been working steady but slow on this one Kyle. I worked with the hood for a couple of hours getting that straightened out as I had a build up of clear in one area. Managed to get it all wet sanded down and polished up. The only thing I have to do on this one now is detail and install the front bumper, side mirror and emblems and it's all done. It sounds like an hour or so of work but I've got to get the emblems right or it'll look a little off.

It's about the level of detail and finish, and you've certainly achieved both with this build. Engine bay, interior and paint finish - it's all there. No small feat given the quirks of this kit. Go ahead and give yourself a pat on the back.
