So far looks like a great kit. Loads of in box reviews out there so I won't ramble on about contents. It will be a cottage build for me so my work space is limited to say the least as my "bench" has to be folded up and put away when done working. Subassembly will of course come home for painting. Three hours in and I have 30% of the track horns cut off the sprue and glued some onto about 20% of the links.

It looks like a lot of work and I hope you enjoying those because sometimes I find it relaxing to do this. You have my eyes glued to your build!

That said It isn't horrible just very tedious. I have an idea for what I think will be a unique diorama/base for it but that is going to stay a secret for now.

I figure only another 12 or so hours to build just the tracks. I have completed whole models including paint and weathering in less time than these links are going to take.

And that sir, is why I prefer to build wheeled vehicles like Strykers.

Between the old Tamiya kits, and all of the more recent Dragon & AFV Club kits there are plenty of subjects to choose from.

Got this one in the stash; I'm not sure if I'm gonna be ambitious enough to use the kit tracks when the time comes

I assume that you are still working on these as we speak... LOL. I think it took me around 2 hours to make the 10 spares on the rear hull (with some added details, but still). I couldn't take it. I broke down. I caved to the AM overlords. 90% because of the amount of work and 10% because of design - trying to put these on after the hull is joined and skirt brackets in place would be rather challenging indeed.

Well back at it! Some sub assemblies ready for paint. The wire they gave as the tow cable is impossible to work with (or at least not worth the trouble) so I dug through my wife's craft box and came up with a suitable sized bead thread. So far the build is easy with just a few fiddly spots.
