I'm seriously lacking for space so wing folds are really needed.

Don't forget to put the wing locks in. Should be a reference somewhere showing a big red stick on each side holding the outboard wing up....or the inboard down. From a certian piont of view.

Yeah they're shown in my books.

If I get to over excited with detail PLEASE DO NOT HESITATE to shut me down. It is your model, your display.....and my memory may not be as good as I think. I don't want to be " the subject matter expert" , just some dude who knows a few things.

Good lord you're throwing a lot at this one. Love the Prowler. Wish someone would get to it with a 32nd...because I totes have room for that. 🤣 guess my big Intruder will have to do for now.

Just tuning in here Mike and I am loving what I am seeing so far. You're doing some really nice work and alterations. You're dishing out some righteous justice on this Prowler. That Aires cockpit is the kind.

My experience is they are all over the place. Some fir perfect. Some don't fit at all. I'm 1000% convinced, also, that they will make a set for say the Tamiya kit of a subject then just relable it and sell for say an Academy kit. And that's why some fit issues are so egregious

The Stuka required ALOT of trimming to get right but it worked out well in the end meaning that it may have been manufactured for a different kit and labeled to fit the Hasegawa version. The other two went together pretty much flawlessly.

I agree. I used an Aires pit in the Viper I just finished and the cockpit had to be sanded paper thin. This one for the Prowler may be a fight. We'll see.
Oh and I may or may not use the wing fold set. I'll have to see how involved it is.

To be 100% accurate in your build you need to include a 4"×4" square box into the overhead of the starboard main landing gear bay. This part is located at aporox the 11o clock position BEHIND the main LG, ther are several hard hydro lines that can not be removed however the box must be Tetrused inti place. It has a spline on top, a connecctor on the outboard side and 4 3/32nd philiphead screws holding it. You will notice on this box 2 locking nuts with 1/64th allen set screws, the lock nuts are to be loosened while NOT TURNING set screw. Then rotate set screw clockwise or counter clockwise to allow cam inside to activate a micro switchs that prevent the main flaps from driving off the aircraft OR up into the wing proper. Now retighten locking nuts WITHOUT turning set screw, operate flaps, pray, and repeat as many times as it takes to get the presise degree of angle for the lift augmentation devices. Then and onky then will your Prowler be complete...And ACCURATE . The above post is strictly in jest and fun only.

Yeah, Fairey kept it simple doing the straight back fold, just like with the Swordfish and Albacore. I do wonder why they didn’t do the Grumman wing tilt once they went to a monoplane design. I can understand the straight back fold with a biplane…🤔
