Back to the bench!!! Been looking over the wing fold. Seems doable with some work. The whole wing is replaced including the engine exhausts. I do have to do some surgery on the kit. The raised area where the kit exhausts would have been needs to be removed.

Hope the surgery goes well... good luck!

That looks like you’re essentially building a 2nd kit! Gotta love the devotion there 😄

Not as of yet. Trying to get the Super Hornets done first and a couple of shelf of doom kits as well. I'll try and work on it some soon.

That's a pretty complex wingfold setup! Not just a simple "slice here" type deal like with some aircraft.

It's actually not as bad as it looks. It's really just a replacement wing.

The Aires cockpit has been primed and ready for paint. I test fitted it into the fuselage today and it doesn't look like it's going to be too bad of a fit. I've started painting the seats as well.

I've always wanted this kit, but can't find one for a reasonable price. This is coming along very nicely. Great work.

I found this at my LHS and had to get it. I had heard that the Kinetic one wasn't great and I didn't like the way they split up the canopies.

Aires gets a bad rap because of fit issues but I've had nothing but good luck with them. A person just has to know what they are getting into when attempting any kind of modification like this. You're doing an amazing job in bringing all of the detail out in the interior and bringing it to life Mike.

Completed the cockpit minus the seats. I need to gloss coat it and do a wash. Then it'll be time to add it to the fuselage.

That looks familiar...224 day inspection, no canopies, no seats , just a big ol' bathtub cockpit. Amazing how much room those sests take up.

Very nicely done! I really like the look of the cloth fabric over the front instruments.

Canopies are masked. Did a little dry brushing on the seats and front canvas instrument panel cover.

Test fitted the cockpit into the fuselage and it fits! It's a tight fit, but it fits. Now to glue it in and close up the fuselage.
