I’m curious to see how HB tackled the front and rear turret transparencies. The way the real thing was made is impossible to replicate in injection molding. Someone was working on clear resin ones in 1/32 I believe.

Yep, I read often that 1/32 kit by HobbyBoss wasn't accurate. I am really hoping the 1/48 comes better. It still will be far better than that old kit by Monogram that was released in the 1970's! I started the build but gave up when I tried to remove the raised seams and scribe the seams... it has gone bad! Never again... LOL

So, I think I’m going to deviate from my standard 251 with one of these conversions. Don’t know which one yet. Most likely the Zu Fuss.

This sounds like a perfect GB for a bloke with a penchant for big stompy robots - in particular my 1/8 Moose from Chappie should fit the bill. I have done parts cleanup and minor assemply on the legs. But this this is so huge I dont think it gives me much advantage.

Thoughts?

   I think you should jump right in and have a go. From your brief it is well within the criteria and woukd be AWESOME to have another robot onboard. 
    Please let me know and I'll post you in the roster and try to answer any questions you might have regarding where to post WIP, finished project, and badges. Looking forward to adding you to the collective....resistance is futile.

Egads. These are super hot...but holy cow are they expensive! Is there a U.S. distributor for these? Or do you order direct from FC Model?

I have a comment…there appears to be 2 big stuff group build sections. And I have inadvertently started a thread under each. While some fine folks have only started a thread in one or the other. Can/should we merge the two? Not a big deal at all but it crossed my mind that perhaps they could all be in one spot! Cheers!

I haven’t found a US distributor, but I did find a Hong Kong retailer that offers them much cheaper than Super Hobby. Currently there’s about a five week lead time on them so I’ll go ahead and put my order in on that Zu Fuss.

I wasn't going to enter any more GB's for a while because I have failed to complete some recently, but given it's you and the length of the build, well I'm in if you'll have me.

OK add me to the list for another. Since my adoption of freebie kits from jmarc went through I now have an old school Revell 1/28 Spad XIII to throw into the ring.
Won't be fancy and will be straight out of the box but I think it will look very pretty when all painted up.

Build OOB, paint it well, even with a brush, and rig it, and I'm sure it will look excellent!
