  I like the uniqueness of the "one offs" being that this one is gold. I do that with aircraft schemes as well in selecting aircraft that are rarely seen. Looking forward to what you have in store next brutha.

Hope to get some time at it at some point but like so many others that real life stuff has been happening lol.

caught a few stray minutes at the bench. Finished (and even glued) the suspension components. After I did a mock-up with wheels and tires. Coming along nicely. Really pleased with this kit.

Thank you! I have removed them again. Lol. They still need painted and tires sanded.

Still learning my way around and checking out things that look good to me. Your GT40 looks great. Coming along nicely. I'll be stopping by once in a while to check it out to see what I can learn. I have an old IMC kit that I just might move up in the que after I get my workroom back. It along with the rest of the house is getting new flooring. No more carpet monster.

Thank you!! Getting close to decals and details on this one. It has been a truly wonderful kit. New flooring, that is great!! I have a hardwood monster myself. Still manage to disappear stuff without carpet.

Alright, a few more minutes were stolen away at the bench. Leaving for another work trip tomorrow, (Columbus,OH this time)  so this'll be sitting for a bit until I get back. I got the engine and rear suspension finished and fully intalled. There is still a clear velocity stack that goes on the carb. Some photos seem to show it stained yellow...I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it yet. 



Interior was also mostly finished up. I continue to be impressed by the fit and finish of this kit. Everything goes where its supposed to...as long as you are careful and take your time. I even managed to get started with decals on the body work here. Still have to finish the clamshell and the rest of the front bodywork as well. Not pictured are wheels painted in Alclad magnesium. Shouldn't be much left once I get home.

The detail that is not only in this kit but also what you are doing with it is nothing short of marvelous. I've got the old Fujimi kit in the stash that I'll be building up but it looks like this kit is EONS ahead of the Fujimi offering. Great work and while I'm sorry to see you get dragged away from the bench, I'll be anxiously awaiting your return to finish this one up Kyle.

Thanks a bunch Joe! It is indeed a wonderful and detailed kit. The fit and engineering is pretty top notch too. Ultra modern tooling is almost always nice

Isn't it just? They've come a long way from IMC and Heller, lol. (I admit to having a soft spot for the old Hellers, they do make a nice model - eventually)

Getting down to it now. Body work mocked up on the completed chassis here. Everything seems to be going where it should. Some paint touch ups needed, decals too, of course. And finishing up the glass work. 





As you can see the clamshell actually fit pretty well. I added the inner structure and hinge system. Also got some glass stuck in. The inner workings of the clamshell seemed to just push it back a sliver. It does still fit and it hinges and operates well. However, in my clumsiness I broke the center post off that holds the middle down. I'm not terribly concerned about this as it stays open beautifully and that is how I plan to display it.
