My user name started when I first discovered modelling forums. At that time I was flying quite regularly and my handle was 'two wheel'. Mostly because every time one of my flying buddies saw me I was on a bicycle or motorcycle. So when I joined my first forum, I shortened it to '2whl' and it's been that on every forum I have joined(so far) My avatar is me having fun on a track day riding a 96 Ducati 916 SPS.

Screen name is my name. And that's that. Avatar is my pic I found of aircraft from the war. I love the look of the Flying Tigers and this pic screams "get some". But this doesn't say anything about me does it. Ok, I am an independent insurance agent for the last 19 years-ish. Before that I started out in the Air Force as an "AGE" mechanic. Aerospace Ground Support Equipment Technician". Bascially, I worked on all the equipment used to maintain the aircraft. Be it air compressors, heaters, generators, bomb lifts, maintenance stands, etc. If it was on the flight-line and not an aircraft, chances are I worked on it. We didn't do motor pool, that was another job altogether. Why? No idea. I then got out and became an auto tech for a Ford dealer for several years before getting injured and being forced into the parts department instead. There I began selling 1.18 diecast model cars all around the world before Ebay killed that. I then moved on to insurance and working for myself. I used to build cars, but those days are gone. My back just won't let me do it anymore and the money it takes to do now is nuts. So, I came back to the hobby in 2014 to fill my desire to build something more affordably. My more common screen name is Brandons_Iron. Other than forums, that's what I go by. Iron referring to my selling of diecast cars which my buddies and I often referred to cars and scale cars as "iron".

Me, I began a career in healthcare in early 2000 and worked at it until late 2020 when the COVID 19 stupidity had gathered sufficent momentum that I decided I was not gonna play anymore. Having a background in Microbiology and infection control amongst other things I noted what the admin types and the CDC were telling me did not add up, making me think perhaps there were some nefarious doings in the works. Accordingly, I stepped away. Having kept up my CDL I fell into a job driving a dump truck, operating a loader and to some extent an excavator. With this work I am no longer outnumbered thirty to one, no more bitchy patients, no more healthcare admin types who think they are God, no more backstabbing peers, no more whiny CNA/STA's to play principal to. I drive my filthy truck (we haul pond mud) and smile every day, life is simple and good. My username comes from how those who know me personally describe me, reserved. Not much imagination there I guess. The avatar comes from from one of the outdoor activities the wife and I are very fond of, backcountry ATV riding. I know it's teeny and ya can't see much, so... I'm very fond of my rifles and pistols and I hunt thru the year. I'm particularly fond of varmint hunting altho I'm slowing down in my old age, I only shot 1,236 prairie dogs last year.

Ok I'll play. I'm Mike and I live outside (northwest) of Houston in Spring, Texas. My screen name is pretty self explanatory, I'm a AEMT (Advanced Emergency Medical Technician, one step below a Paramedic) for a fire department outside of Houston. I've been EMS for over 30 years and at my current department for almost 18 years. My avatar changes from time to time but it's usually somethings EMS related. The current one is one that my wife made for me recently.

There must not be much more room for notches on that pistol!
I know what you mean about truck driving being more fun, and escaping a bunch of unrewarded responsibility for the simple life. After I retired I ran some trucks as I was winding down a farming business. Here is one of my three Kenworth W900's.

What make of truck is that called there? In Australia, this shape was marketed as a Sterling after Daimler Chrysler bought out Fords heavy vehicle side. They were very quickly phased out to be replaced by Freightliners.

In my previous post I failed to mention anything about me. I'm a mailman, coming up on 28 years. Before that I did bodywork mostly on Corvettes and fiberglass kit cars. Also did some commercial vehicle painting. Moved to SW Florida 5 years ago. I was getting more and more miserable every winter. Here is winter is 45 degrees for about a week.

This is a really cool old girl. Do you have pictures of the rest? What driveline did you run? Here's the other two, both 1979 years. The one I pictured first was a 1976, with a Cummins Big Cam 400, 14613 transmission and Timken rear ends geared for 62 at 1700 rpm. I had 14613's in all three, it was a great transmission with a very low first and a very even progression through the gears. The two axle had a Big Cam 290, and the silver 3 axle had a Cat 3406A, which I pulled and intended to put a Cummins in it but after doing a complete restoration on the cab and frame I reached the point where I was ready to slow down more so I got a decent offer and sold them all. It was fun working on it but I decided to spend more time goofing off.

Great old trucks there. The single drive is something you just don't see on a KW down here!

My user name is, well, how I'm called by my friends. It's "Tobias" in my passport. I created the account under an acronym first, but quickly switched because I found it more convenient for interaction. I find it always a tad strange to address someone "Jägermeister_08/15#" or something like that, so I didn't want this fo me neither. I'm an automotive engineer spending my work time with heavy military trucks, including some armored types, but nothing armed. My avatar is a figure from MAIM that I painted for their box art contest long ago, but didn't make it first place. This here won the internet vote instead. It's the #35003 if someone needs it:

What a great idea for a thread Brent! Sorry it took me so long to get in here and read through all of the posts but it is DEFINITELY fun to read about folks that I've known for YEARS across the communities and am still learning things about them. It's equally as fun to read about all the newcomers that I haven't known for very long to get some background on them. I'm looking forward to reading about other members who haven't seen this thread just yet. Really cool stuff. As many of you know, I've been a hotrodder all my life. I've owned 3 diffrerent 1967 Mustangs, one 1989 Mustang (hence my previous screen name of mustang1989) and my current ride of a 1994 Silverado that has undergone many changes in the last 7 years.....one of which was the installation of a 406 small block Chevrolet.....hence the name 406 Silverado. If it's got a motor and 4 wheels .....it's gonna get the "Joe treatment". I have worked as an automotive technician my whole life (after my 8-year stint in Army Aviation as a UH-1H Huey Crewchief) and have had the opportunity to run repair shops with two different companies.

Hi, all. Great to meet all y’all a bit more in depth. I used Geezer on FSM because I felt old the day I signed up over there. When I got involved with SPAM, I just used my name, Lyle. Born and raised in Louisville KY. Both parents were Army vets (met in a North African field hospital). I’ve lived just south of Louisville for longer than I care to remember, in Mt. Washington KY, but with a Taylorsville KY address due to zip codes.
No, I am not right in the head.

I'm Mark from Boston. While I was in the Air Force in the 80's everyone thought I had an accent. They started calling me Mach. After a while I gave up and went with it, after all it fits for a pilot. In the 90's while signing up for Compuserve I tried mach1 through mach6, they were taken. So mach7 it was. I've stuck with it ever since. My avitar is my other hobby, Classic British cars, my '79 MGB.

Well my user name is a derivative of MrT which is my handle on other sites. Since that handle was already in use it became mrt51 which was my age when I started here. I'll be 61 in a couple of days. My avatar is a worn Luke Skywalker Jedi master. We have kinda grown old together. Behind the secret identity I'm Terry Barrow a mild manored product designer here in the ozarks.
