Yea. I'm going to be building a Japanese Ki-61 also and can decide whether to do the Tamiya or Hasegawa kit. I just bought Quinta sets for both

DANG Kyle! Looks like you're already a 190 pro!! Those Quinta decals really bring out the best in an interior and this one is no exception. That looks VERY good!!!

I have a couple more planes in my stash including Eduard’s zero that I’m pretty sure is a profipack. Going to get the Quinta stuff anyways if I can.

Yes, I’ve used Eduard in the past and these are just much more user friendly for me.

I have no idea on that. My first endeavor with them. Per recommendations and instructions I removed the raised surface detail on everything, then brushed a bit of white glue where the decal was supposed to go. Then I just treated it like a regular decal. Released from the backing paper after just a few seconds and wicked off the extra water. Really easy to get into position. Will definitely buy again.

No need to use decal solution. They are going on a flat surface anyway.  Also you must use glue to adhere them. I use Krystal  Klear

Made some progress tonight. Cockpit finished and installed into fuselage halves, as well as the rear landing gear. Really happy with how the Quinta stuff came out. Of course since this is a 190 it is all nicely disappeared under the firewall now. I did do a very light bit of weathering to the cockpit. Just a bit of use grime but still pretty clean. Seams look pretty good and minimal putty will be needed here. Also got a start on the engine as well.

Great progress on this! Your cockpit looks wonderful and yes it's tucked into the fuselage of these so much it really is hard to see much. Makes one wonder how the pilots squeezed in.

Excellent cockpit Kyle. The Quinta decals do indeed look really sharp. When it comes to closed cockpits like the 190 I take heart in that I enjoyed the work and I now it's there. Fine start on the engine. You are certainly moving along nicely with some really nice work.

I love pimping out the office and then hiding it in polystyrene so no one can ever see it again. But, at least I know it's there. Great work.

More progress. The gear hub on the front of the engine did not have a hole in it from our friends at Hasegawa, so I took care of that so I could be sure I was able to install my prop much later. Then I got it attached to the engine with the polycap inside. Engine is done. I am not doing anything else. Won't be able to see it anyways. I added the touch of brass to the pushrods just to make it gleam a little back in the cowl. 







Attaching the wings to the fuselage next we took a leaf out of James' book (project510) with CLAMPS!! Not as many as he has though. 



Everything gap wise looks pretty good. I also remembered to paint the RLM gray in the appropriate areas before closing those areas off. Remembering these things is hard. LOL. Hope to have more soon.

 However bad these were....the 109 was definitely worse in terms of the pilot getting squeezed into the cockpit. At first glance the 190A's look bigger than the 109 but in all actuality they are of comparable size.

Progress is coming along very well on this one starting with that cockpit Kyle!! Those Quinta decals really add alot to the interior of this one. She's taking on the shape of a plane now buddy.

Everything is looking great Kyle. You have done sharp work on the engine. And, yes like the cockpit, much of it will not be visible. Yours will look the part for sure though. Yup, that is a lot of clamps. Seems to have done the job though. Really splendid progress overall.

My 190 V1 is slowed down because I have succumbed to cockpit envy. I don't think any of the Quinta stuff will really fit but I ordered some anyway since I have other 190's to build. That's a nice cockpit, Kyle.

Thank you!! More concerned about the Luftwaffe camo than basic assembly. And while this kit isn’t my favorite so far it also is a pretty good one. No horrible surprises.

And thank you Joe Rix. The clamps were actually necessary as nothing on this kit is quite straight. Everything just needs a bit of persuasion so far. Not awful. Just not perfect. So I just clamped it everywhere.

Haha! Thank you! Not trying to make anyone envious however I do think you’ll really like using the Quinta stuff.

No kidding! I visited one of very few flyable Me109s few weeks ago and I couldn’t believe how tiny the cockpit was. And the view was very limited from inside too!

There was no way I can fit inside there unless I loose 50-75 lbs… 🤪
