To start off, the D-9 kit did not include a cushion for the pilot seat. I guess by this point in the war, comfort was no longer important lol. Anyways, I made one… The cockpit came together on the D-9 relatively well. I do find it interesting that Eduard had some of their cockpit PE parts painted, while others the instructions indicate I need to paint them… Bit late but they didn't need a cushion. They sat on their 'chute.

I am considering changing the scheme of the D-9 to something else. I want it to be truly unique. Anyone have any ideas on a good scheme to change the D-9 to? Preferably something where decals are available.
The current one I had selected is being done by another member, and his is truly outstanding.

If you are talking about Brown 18 from JG26 being built by Jay (tucohoward), he unfortunately decided to scrap the build. So it is still open if that was the sole reason.

I’m sad to see it scrapped. I thought it was looking good! I’m glad he has a few others in the stash to do. I will proceed with my original plan then!

Green KreationZ, just wondering if you have any updates on your D-9 Keith? I've been stuck in the rear fuselage detailing of my D-9 for way too long now.

Green KreationZ , just wondering if you have any updates on your D-9 Keith? I've been stuck in the rear fuselage detailing of my D-9 for way too long now. No time on the bench lately. Wife started a new job which has required me to wake up much earlier majority of the week. My shift at work will be changing soon though, which will hopefully open up a bit of free time for me. You having a rough go with it?

Dude it great to see you back at it again on this beauty of a build Keith ( Green KreationZ). These 801 engines build up VERY nicely in these kits and you're almost making me want to bust out with one of mine for the next build. Great to have you back brother.

The engine for the A-7 has been primed and nearing completion.
Now onto the D-9….. Man… I joined the fuselage together last night which took almost an hour. It’s fit was HORRIBLE. I am actually a bit shocked how terrible it fit haha. I’ll get pictures up today of my progress.

I shot myself in the foot with Fw190 bench time once again as we took an emergency litter of kittens from the shelter to foster. They are just getting weaned which means hand feeding (nothing new here) Are you aiming to complete them both at the same time or just bouncing back and forth between them?

Just sorta bouncing back and fourth right now. Once I get the fuselage of the A-7 together, I should hopefully in a good position to get them done around the same time. Then I’ll be moving onto the diorama and its various kits.

Coming along. Ya, the bottom there looks like an alignment issue. That primed engine looks fantastic!

The details that you are putting into this one are phenomenal Keith and your progress is coming along well. Before you start filling seams....don't go any further yet. Assemble the upper and lower wing together first using rubber bands to hold everything together and fit the whole assembly up into the bottom of the fuselage and see what kind of gaps you're going to have. Usually there are gaps on either side. The way to counter the fuselage to upper wing gaps on these Eduard kits is to cut a piece of sprue and insert into the area between the fuselage halves just below the cockpit. This will solve the gaps and may solve a good portion of your gap issues on the bottom of the fuselage where the engine is. This was my Eduard A-8 gap issue that I had and had learned of the sprue / fuselage spreader idea after this.

I’ll get the wings all attached like you recommend before filling gaps and sanding.

Thank you all for following along. Went with Alclad Aluminum for the base paint on the engine. On Friday night I’ll do the detail paint work:
