I’m liking this! Great job fitting the pi Ed ces together. I’m interested in how the magnets work out!

Hats off to you tackling this amount of scratch/conversion work. I know I couldn't do it. Certainly not "well"!

I guess I will try the drilling thing on the hood when opening for the snorkel scoop, maybe drill through tape. Sorry, not trying to hijack thread. Not at all. Sharing information is the beauty of the Forum. Before the internet, how would anyone learn so many technique in such a short time? Right??!! Joining modeling forums 12 years ago was the best thing I ever did to improve my modeling skillset. Within a month of joining my very first forum, I was doing things I never thought possible.

I just caught a rerun of Road Kill Garage on Motor Trend where they were modifying one of these and I though of this build. Fair to say you are going way more in depth than they did. Watching for more!

Watching for more! I’ll have to look that up. Certainly easier to play around with a $40 plastic kit than a $40,000 restoration. 8^D

Oh Road Kill Garage does "doing the right thing the wrong way"....not a restoration by any means. Lots of zip ties used but some pretty cool burnouts done

A bit of an update: got the interior parts fitted and painted. The paint is a caramel colour made by mixing red, green and yellow. The carpet is Ranger Embossing Powder 'Potting Soil' applied with Elmer's Glue, then brush painted with Tamiya Acrylic Flat Clear. Used a sewing needle to replace the shifter in the kit. Nothing amazing, but good enough for government work.

That interior really, really looks good. Is it just me or am I the only one who feels the need to double clutch when I look at that photo?

kyledehart5 Thanks Dood. handiabled The wood-look is a combination of the caramel colour dry brushed over with a darker brown, then black followed by a heavy coat of clear orange. It looks a little redder in the photo.

I'm warming up to this whole embossing powder for carpet idea. I used to use flocking but gave up on that as it is messy and all one has to do is turn the model over one time and that stuff is all over the place.
That interior is looking mighty sweet!!

Oddly enough, when I first tried finding ‘flocking’ powder, it wasn’t available at any of my local hobby shops. What I did find on Amazon is Ranger Embossing Powder. I’ve stuck with Elmer’s Glue for the adhesive. A coat of flat clear isn’t really necessary if you give the interior tub a number of heavy flicks from below, then brush away any loose bits clinging due to static.

Update: Most of the engine is done. Drilled a hole where there might be a water pump and built up a little lip with liquid putty. Just have to run a hose to the rad. I’m sure Henry Ford would be livid with the fact that I painted the engine block orange. Pretty sure none of this is correct, but it’s just plastic.

Henry ford is already furious that he had to replace the model T. Great looking engine.

As he said, you can have any color you want, as long as it is black. But the again, isn’t orange the new black?😁Engine looks great in that orange.
