kyledehart5 moparman18064 handiabled. Thanks fellas. I finally committed to making a better effort with the paint finish. I wet sanded the primer, wet sanded and polished both paint and clear coats. There is still some orange peel and minor flaws here and there, but this is probably my best effort to date.

Wow!!! Round 2 paint work turned out fabulous and a good-looking color combo it is!! Looks like all that work in starting over paid off well. I really get more as far as a sense of accomplishment goes when things go south and I'm able to recover as good as you have here.

Bigger, more obvious ones I have to fix. Don’t think I could ever throw a model into the trash or put it back in the box. As a ‘general’ rule, I like to build one kit at a time and in the order I purchased them. Weird eh?

beautiful color combination and airbrush work. Will there be pin stripping between the colors?

beautiful color combination and airbrush work. Will there be pin stripping between the colors? Hmm, that’s an interesting thought. I sanded off the side mouldings to provide a more restomod look and create a cleaner seam location for the 2 colours. if you had mentioned this earlier - before the repaint and polishing and clear coat and polishing… I might have done that. Going to keep your idea in mind for the next time I attempt a 2 colour paint job.

I wish I could say that. My closet seems to collect more kits every month. I still have several big scale kits to get to yet. My 3 ft. long US Constitution will probably keep me busy for a year or two🤣
Sorry, quote box did not copy for some reason.

I don't seem to be one of those people that can build more than one kit at a time either. I have definitely put my fair share back in the box and then on to the trash can after going too far to turn back. lol

So far, at least for now, I have never tossed or failed to complete a kit. I can safely say that I have the personality that I won't let the plastic get the better of me and I will whip that turkey one way or another. I most likely won't built that kit again and may not be as pleased as I might be otherwise, but it will get done. One day. I currently only have two shelf queens waiting. I have two more in process and two simply waiting for me to get others out of the way. The shelf queens are only there due to running out of ideas on how to proceed. The builds themselves are extremely heavy kit mods and scratch work that melted my brain for a time. I'll get back on them this year once I get the current builds done. The reason I build more than one at a time is two fold. Waiting for glue or paint to dry or not wanting to burn out on a single build so I mix it up to keep things interesting. But that's just me....

Basically the same as me. I like to keep switching things up to keep myself from burning out. I think I have maybe two shelf queens. Builds where things just weren’t progressing how I wanted so I felt I needed a break. But I’ll finish them at some point.
