If i remember right they issued the Mk22/24 at the same time as a Seafire XVII Both were a massive leap forward at the time from the usual reissues from the 60s and 70s to brand new mould modern kits and were highly praised. Eduard used the Airfix Mk22/24 as the base kit in their own boxings of the type. Interesting that at the same time to reinforce their return to quality kits they also released a 1/48 English Electric Lightning, hard to find now but one of my favourite builds even now, many years later which i reviewed here in 2007 modelingmadness.com/review/viet/gb/barratlite.htmYou had to go and say something didn't you Paddy!! Found one on eBay for about 20% less than RRP...and then the seller offered to knock a couple of quid off, so one is on it's way for less than £22, so about 25% less than it normally goes for. You're a very naughty man!! ATB Andrew

Needed a few colors for some upcoming builds. Specifically for the P-51 GB. Also decided that I should replace my brushes. Pretty sure I got them WAAAAAAY back over 20 years ago. So its time to replace them. Not thrilled with the purple, photos looked blue when ordered but the soft grip is nice. Well see how they work.

The aforementioned Nunu 911 RSR and SK Decals Wynn’s decals arrived today. What a nice kit! All of the vents are open on the one-piece body. Interior looks well detailed. No engine and not much suspension detail, but that’s not seen on the rear car anyway. Nobody seems to make the correct shade of purple for the car, but I’ve found a NASCAR Wynn’s purple that might work. I need to get moving on the Tamiya 787B so I can start this baby!

Finally got my hands on the Airfix Kate. I was starting to think it was actually OOP as the only place I could find them was on eBay for crazy prices. Well tonight I walked into my LHS and they had three of them sitting on the shelf so I snagged one.

Made a Hobby Lobby run today and they had kits on sale for 40% off. Yeah I couldn't resist.

i’ve actually been using this for about a month now. the last thing i needed was another airbrush lol.. but i’ve been curious about this brand, i know some of you guys on here use this one. anyway i paid 66$ canadian on amazon, it worked perfect straight out of the box, however i noticed the grease they put on it around the trigger area was pretty much hard as a rock so i stripped it down and cleaned everything. added a tiny amount of quality automotive grease on the little brass plunger and the sliding thing. now it works really smooth. ( an extremely tiny amount of grease) there are flaws in the finish and it’s definitely not as refined as a much more expensive brand but I would highly recommend this particular airbrush to anyone!, I was quite shocked how well it works and is made. i would ignore the huge amount of negative reviews this brand has on some airbrush forums and facebook pages. my only concern would be spare parts availability in the future. the .5mm nozzle head seams to have a groove in it also so you can tell them apart

Ill have to check thin on mine. I never noticed anything. Im still getting used to the change in grip, which is my only issue. Im also not as experienced as you and others, so comparing it to anything is well.. yea. I just really cant. Mine sprays really nice.

I won't risk any other oils for fear it may damage an o-ring or packing. Once I clean the AB it gets a crazy light coat, like wiped off with my fingers light, to lube it up. Works amazing and using the AB with this makes it work sooooo smooth.

yeah that stuff is good for the needle. these trigger airbrushes are a bit different with the mechanism, a touch of actual grease where they slide is definitely recommended, on my standard airbrushes I don't use any lubrication at all on any parts. just my opinion

This has become my workhorse gun. It just always works. Always sprays consistently for me. And as I’m used to the pistol trigger from work it feels right to me. I grab this one first almost everytime. So far I know people who have dealt with the company for replacement parts and seals and they’ve been great to work with. Although it’s also true they could disappear anytime. lol. Anyways I’ve gotten my moneys worth out of mine.

OK chaps.........so more absolutely essential purchases. ATB Andrew ---------------------------------------------------------------- Some essential basics....plus masksThe tape and camo masks were free, thanks to some points I had with the website in question......and of course all my recent wingy purchases need canopy masks!! This is another Christmas present from my daughter but all in a VERY good cause!!The Hawker Typhoon Preservation Group ( hawkertyphoon.com), are looking to get a WW2 Typhoon back in the air - there isn't one - and are now official Airfix affiliates. Therefore, 10% of all purchases made via the Group's Airfix Affiliate link goes to the charity. I have several of these kits in the stash already but this version is actually done using the markings of the one that will one day hopefully fly......so it would have been rude not too. This one is entirely paddy 's fault....completely....and he knows why!! Found this on eBay after his recommendation and whilst watching it, the seller knocked 10% off....forcing me to buy it for less than £22 delivered! Happy was I!! I didn't have a P-47 Razorback!!Whilst I had a bubbletop version, I didn't have a 'razorback' version....truly shocking I know! 2nd hand eBay purchase for a good price. I really am very, very pleased about this purchase.I was at the Abingdon show yesterday (pics to follow) and someone at one of the club tables was selling off a few kits and this caught my eye. These normally got for c. £30, albeit some go for a bit cheaper on eBay if you're lucky. In my case he only wanted £20. As you can see it's the 'export' version of the kit, so it's non-RAF markings only....one of which is Dutch....as is my wife!

Love the Sea Fury. I did the old hobby craft kit a couple years ago. Curious to see how this kit goes together.

Got these at Armorcon on Sat, really nice quality and the instruction booklet is excellent. I think the truck going to be my next build, not sure how I am going to modify it yet.

Awesome stuff guys! While on vacation I was able to pick these up from John's Models: He also had these available, which I snapped up because of all the spillage I keep having: Upon my return, I worked a tabletop game convention and was able to pick up these: Those will go toward my M*A*S*H compound when I start making it. Yes, they are a bit bigger than 1/72 scale, but I always considered those characters larger than life for me anyway. LOL! We'll see how things go once something happens. That's all for me for now.
