Nice haul Kyle. That Sturmovik is screams for a winter/snowy base. Andrew - my mom was from Liverpool and I actually lived there for a couple years when I was 5 or so. Go Reds! Anyhow, we used to get a Terrys orange chocolate ball in our stockings ever Christmas. I do love orange & chocolate. I also loved the Frys and Cadbury Flake candy bars.
Brandon - curious to see how that old MPC kit goes together. That kit dates back to the real car days!

I picked up this book on the SR-71 for 40% off. It has ALL the planes and ALL the missions from the birds through their life spans. It is like a coffee table book with tons of huge pics and many many pics of the pit, bays, avionics, skin, etc. So worth having. This will help with mine when I get around to building it.
Also picked up this OLD MPC kit on Evilbay for a good price. Someone started it, but only the engine. The chrome is largely stripped as well, but all the parts are there except one carb. I plan to use a resin 427 anyway, so that's not an issue. The body is great, but the rest of the kit is meh at best. This one should be fun to work over and make it really nice. This was produced in 1981 and the decals are shot, so off to hunt for those. I can always vinyl print some masks if I have to. These are still somewhat easy to find, but not for decent prices. I think this one was cheap due to it being started and bad chrome. Good score.
Awesome!! That book looks fantastic. And that’s a sweet old kit!! I’ve never come across one for a reasonable price so that’s a great score!! Pretty sure Indycals make decals. Maybe not for that kit specifically, I’m not sure, but at least in that scale.

Have the Shturmovik on skis on a nice icy runway. Definitely will have to give that some thought.

Went to a used book store that we discovered the other day and I found these two books. I love the Space Shuttle and test aircraft so I had to get these two. I have one other Space Shuttle book that is huge and is very technical that I got a long time ago at Nasa here.

I believe that the Shturmovik kit also includes the standard wheels landing gear as well. If you source some new decals you can build a regular service type as well... This was mine after it got hit by a shelf full of stuff knocked down by a cat seeking high ground in my old work/display area... The landing gear and other small bits were broken too badly to repair...

Man, what an absolute bummer. Yes, I was quite angry with that cat for awhile. Thank goodness that my oldest took it with her when she bought her own place awhile later. My only two Accurate Miniatures builds, the IL-2 and Mustang Mk.Ia were a total loss, along with an old Monogram F-80. The other damaged builds I was able to repair. I have since bought a replacement F-80 and IL-2, but not another Brit Allison Mustang...

brandonk! When you build that MK IV, great score by the way! Remember the wheels are left and right side specific. The cooling vanes of the wheels have to face in the proper direction.(should be noted in the instructions) Yeah, another concept meant to help with the brake fade/overheat problems on those beasts!!Go to Spotmodel.com. I do believe they sell decals for the MK IV...

John, just be advised there can be a LOT of variations in a SINCGARS set up. The part on the left is the mount. That looks like it could be the type that holds up to two radios stacked vertically. In the center, L to R, are the speakers, later and early type radio transceiver, handmics and PLGRs. On the left in the clear print, I'm not sure what those are supposed to be. Overall, those items don't look too bad...

I've bought some paint, I know. Living on the edge. Several bottles of Tamiiya acrylics ... and these two. You can't just go into a hobby shop and buy a three dollar bottle of paint, now can you? Tamiya M16 Tamiya 2-Ton 4x2 Ambulance

In a fit of obviously madness, I picked up this old junkyard Vette for a steal. It's all there except the windscreen and unpainted. I'll blow it apart, clean it up and paint it nice with new decals. should be fun.
I also keep a running wish list on Amazon of kits I want or like. I pay attention to prices as they will drop by 50%+ when they are low on stock, doesn't matter the vendor. This one was one of those deals. This is how I buy my kits on the cheap.
And another discount sale on Amazon. Normally this kit runs around $50+, got it on sale for $29. Been wanting this one for some time, just not at $50. So I nabbed it. I have several kits for Lemans now from Tamiya and Fujimi. Looking forward to building them all.

Excellent hauls everyone. Some really cool kits there. Brandon, I do the same thing on Amazon. Mostly the kits are not any fantastic price…until the are. Also recently got a great deal on a different boxing of the Fujimi 917. Can’t wait to see yours built and that vette is too cool.

Nice haul BK... though I'm not sure I'm a glue-bomb guy. I have the Tetsu Ikuzawa boxing (green car) of the 917. For you 1/16 guys - Gecko Models is coming out with a 1/16 PAK40 (I may be interested in that!)

The green car is the boxing I have as well. Got it dirt cheap!! I’ll probably build it that way too as you don’t see too many

Well... there's the 1/16 Sd.kfz 251 in 1/16 that could be towing the PAK40 and I have seen 1/16 251 crew...? Just need a huge shelf and 1 year to build and paint 😂

Jeez, three pages of new posts since my last visit... that's NOT a good sign! My local club had its annual white elephant gift exchange event and it was too much fun seeing members fighting over few kits. I was so happy to bring home this... When I travel, I like to visit local hobby shops... grabbed this while I was in Orlando for work conference. I am positive that you are responsible for my decision to buy another wingy kit.
