Hobby Boss Sd.Kfz. 222

My current WIP, I know I haven't been posting much, going to try to get better at that this year. I've been spoiled by Discord Servers where I don't have to screw around with 3rd party image hosting, just post straight from my phone.
Anyway the Hobby Boss Sd.Kfz. 222. So far it's been a very nice kit, a lot more detailed compared to the old Tamiya kit. I'm building this for the North Afrika GB on the Micro Machines Podcast Discord server.
Only after market I'm using on this is a new brass barrel from Master. I've also soldered the PE together, so much better than trying to hold them together with CA glue

Great start! Those master aftermarket products are just amazing. I can recommend their antennas also.

Glad to see you back! After reading this it made me feel grateful that I sold the Tamiya kit and bought HobbyBoss kit last year.

Not much to report, got the PE grates CA glued in and the metal replacement barrel installed. Most of my night was spent falling down a rabbit hole of Italian merchant shipping lifting fixtures and cranes.

Sweet! Replacing that plastic barrel is a MUST and you have showed us why. Nice details on the muzzle!

Those additions are all adding up to make one heckuva build in the makings Clint!! Eyes glued to the set man.

Got the base coats down using my new Gaahleri airbrush. Have to say it sprays just as good as my old Iwata. Now on to detail paint and modulate these tones

Big fan of my two Gaahleris. For the money they have to be close to impossible to beat. That all looks excellent.

Starred working on detailing the interior, won't go crazy here since only 2% will be visible once the gun and cage are on the turret.

Believe me the judges at AMPS contests will see more than 2% of your interior. 🤣 Everything looks great. Stay safe out there as we are expecting ice storm tonight.

Oh I'm sure they can, I've already started on detailing the leather seats the loaders will be visible but the drivers can't be seen, but it will still get the full treatment since I can't help myself but do it. I've never been to AMPS contest but I stopped building for contest 7-8 years ago and only build to a level that I'm happy with, if it wins something then right on, if not them no big deal. It's already starting to rain up here, hope the roads don't freeze to much I get off work at 7am

It has a very nice interior, engine and transmission. I want to build this again and have it all opened up. My idea with this one still needs the visible engine, radiator and transmission so the Tamiya one wouldn't work for me either way I want to go.
