Time is often worth so much more than just the knowledge, skill and tools. But, you do get exactly what you want with some very nice looking tweaks. The clear bins are nice. You can resize as needed. . . and so on. You are doing very nice work.

Sadly, today's project did not involve any clamps... We are making a paint rack? Paint shelf? You can call it whatever you like haha Made a partial cut witht he table saw. The less I use the jigsaw the better. This should work who needs to actually measure anything right? Works for me! Ill be cutting those tall corners off but Its getting late. Ill finish tommorrow and glue it all up.

Nice! I've been contemplating changing my paint storage system to a rack to be able to see the individual paints vs a drawer full of "greys" ect

Yea I originally was going to make a wall mounted paint rack to sit directly in front of me but with all the different paints we use, sizes of jars... I thought this was better. Before heading to the office this morning I was fiddling around with ideas of how to cut down the ends. I don't like how you cant see the ends well, and also its super tall. Also, in this photo you can see the right side end, I'm not sure how but I screwed it up something fierce. Not sure how I did that... I really do not want to waste material so I may just leave it. We shall see. I think I will do this for the ends.

I can tell you are an experienced wood worker because you use pencils and draw lines. That's far too advanced for a caveman like me. Great work, Sir!

I can tell you are an experienced wood worker because you use pencils and draw lines. That's far too advanced for a caveman like me. Great work, Sir! Dont tell anyone, but I draw lines to help avoid additional math. I should measure and create cut lists, but who has the time to do things the right way! So, I filled er' up with paint this morning.. I'm not sure I am feelin it. I clearly didn't plan this out enough. While it technically does the job (holds paint) its going to be annoying getting them out. But, I could just be patient, pull out the colors I need, place them in that center area and pull when needed. I mean.. It does look nice. It holds every Jar of paint I have which is crazy its like EXACTLY the right size. So hopefully I don't need anymore haha.

MORE CLAMPS Seriously though, I should have probably started this part first... It being the part all of these little storage boxes will sit on top of it. This is a 24 in x 60 in desk top. Its two 1/2 in MDF boards laminated together to make a 1 in thick top. After this dries I will trim up all the edges so its straight on all 4 then I have a piece of black laminate to glue down for the top surface. Once that is done aill add the plastic endge bading and shell be ready to secure down!

That's alot of clamps! Lucky us now we know who to borrow if we need those... your work truly impresses me ALOT! As a rule I dont loan out tools! But all jokes aside, my shop is always open for friends to use if they need the space! I have a few hours in between my son's busy weekend schedule so this is what I was able to finish today. Grabbed my routers and flush trimmed the outward facing sides of the table top. I cut the table top pieces large so that after laminating the two together, I could cut it down to its final dimensions. Of course, literally as soon as I pulled out the material, it started to rain.... But we dont quit because of bad weather here at the 510 garage.. LOL Next up was to route the channel needed for the T-Molding that will wrap around the table top to prevent the MDF from being destroyed and crumbling off. This gives you an idea of how the T-Molding will look. Why so much effort for just a model work station that will live in the garage? This is actually practice for me, because I am about to start building a massive L shaped gaming desk for my nephew. Because it will be made out of Walnut, and be lit with LED's I want to make sure I dont screw it up. Anyways.. thanks for all the compliments yall. Im just as impressed witht he model work all of you do, as you seem to be with my basic woodwork. This place is awesome.

You are going to have a great work space with all of the improvements you've created Thanks! I think the easier it is to work in the space, and the better otganized the more focused I am and the work will be better. Started what I thought was going to be a quick easy project. But, with a break in between rain the boy wanted to play ALL DAY haha. Looks simple but this back piece will support a raised shelft for another row of storage for something else. What I have not yet decided. Maybe tape & wire rack? Tool rack? Something like that.

Wow! It's been a bit since I checked in and I find that you have been one busy boy. Absolutely terrific craftsmanship. Appears that you are getting things how you want them for the most part. I've often considered building some sort of paint rack, but I have so many that in the end it is just easier for me to keep them organized in cabinet drawers. All your work is paying off handsomely James.
