Resin can be very tricky to get painted for sure. After I paint my resin indy cars I don’t touch them with bare fingers ever again because I’m terrified I’ll pull paint somewhere. 😂 This is looking really great. Looks like a fantastic base you’ve got laid down.

The only panel that didn’t have custom work was the roof.

A little brightness on the subject, ultra silver for the candy colors base. I hope I don’t have an adhesion problem( notice inside right quarter panel where black came off down to the resin), I might not have cleaned inside well enough. That's looking good so far Rich. A little clean up here and there and you'll be in business. The only resin I've painted so far is for aircraft kits and not entire car bodies like this. Will be watching & learning.........

Gotten lucky with it so far.

Back to interior again, shaved door handles and window crank handles off. I shaved .020 off door panel areas, trimmed aluminum sheet to fit where door panels were. After inner door areas are painted, aluminum panels should be relatively flush when mounted.

Got a little further, floor flocked and sealed, cage, shifter and seats in. I am waiting on decals for dash and door panels. I am also waiting for window cranks.

A little bit more, photo etch window cranks and under dash gauges. I also installed the fire extinguisher. I painted and mounted nitrous tank from VCG Resins and am painting battery from them also.

Another little sneak peek, interior side panels in place, dash is now in, but waiting for tach. Hiding behind the scenes- it’s black now. I have to touch up 2 small areas that peeled to the resin, not too bad.

LOTSA detail going into this car Rich. I used flocking material as carpet for a while and then switched to embossing powder or started using floor mats over the kit floor. This does look good with what you've used though. Paint scheme is looking good so far and definitely looking forward to seeing more paintwork on this.

I have been looking into embossing powder, but I still had a pouch full of flocking hanging around. Funds are a little limited right now, as April 15 is coming quick, and need to keep things lean until then. It did not help situation that wife got rear ended by uninsured driver. On the bright side, I am kind of eager to try these candy paints( has candy red highlights under the tangerine and really thin silver pinstriping), you should be seeing some results on Monday( wife at work , so I can spray). There are many more detailed areas to go, not sure about June deadline.

I hear you on keeping things lean too. Just got through offloading a whole bunch of cash on my heart ablation. Don't worry about the deadline as I can extend it for builds that are still ongoing Rich.

A lot of original scratch building going into your model. Keep ‘er going.
Sadly, the person who hit your wife’s car will be back on the road again… without insurance. Important thing is she’s ok.

Thank you Kyle. Yes, luckily she came out of it ok. She even took it in stride. Normally, she would have flipped out, this time, she was the calm one.
