Looking forward to seeing the colors you lay down on this. Sorry about the accident, at least it sounds like your wife made it through unscathed Thank you, I too am looking forward to it. Hopefully, I donāt mess it up, as the first color getting laid down is Candy Fire Red in very fine gradient lines underneath the Candy Tangerine. If I mess it up, I will have to redo everything. I will definitely be using a .02 needle in airbrush.

A lot of original scratch building going into your model. Keep āer going. Sadly, the person who hit your wifeās car will be back on the road againā¦ without insurance. Important thing is sheās ok. Thank you, much more details left to go on it. As for the person driving the other car, yes, the cop let him drive away with no front end left on car, leaking fluids. In NC, it is almost impossible to collect from the clown also. Being an at fault state, my wife just being in the car that he hit, makes her at least 1% at fault, even though she was fully stopped in traffic. Thankfully, she is ok, but now we are forking out money for rental car and have to pay insurance deductible.

Oh no! High risk, high reward paint job. The black and red looks(ed) pretty sweet, too.

Oh no! High risk, high reward paint job. The black and red looks(ed) pretty sweet, too. Thanks, I knew it was risky right from the start. At least it is much easier than re stripping a car( been there several times). If it would have worked out, the metallic actually popped in the candy tangerine quite well. I am stripping it right now, IPA 91% on a paper towel is working quite well. It will look like that again pretty soon- minus the silver pinstripe, as I canāt find any tape thinner than .4mm, nor do I want to. That was a real treat pulling those stripes with tape that thin. Another lesson learned

Ah bummer. Such a disheartening feeling when the masks come off and reveal a mess.

Ah bummer. Such a disheartening feeling when the masks come off and reveal a mess. Yes, it is. It certainly isnāt as bad as when I was painting a customerās 1:1 79 Monte Carlo silver/black two tone, just laid down the black Centari enamel, when a mosquito the size of Godzilla decided to do the backstroke all the way down the center of the hood. I will get over this one much easier.

Really Sorry that happened. I know youāll bounce back and itāll look awesome in the black and red. Thanks Kyle. I will bounce right back on this one. I knew what I was getting into trying to cram all that into a 1:25 scale paint job. It will still look like the car, just wonāt have the silver pinstripes.

I give you an A+ for effort! This is a paint job I wouldn't have the guts to try in a million years. I really like the color! I have no doubt that you will pull it out of the fire and have it looking great!

That's quite the scheme you've got going with this one Rich. Hats off to you for giving this one a go and again in dealing with the issues of it along the way. I'm FO SHO looking forward to the recovery efforts and what this beauty will look like once you get everything lined out.

Being a resin body , what did you use to strip the paint? Joe, I used 91% isopropyl alcohol on a paper towel. I did a little at a time, giving it a chance to dry before moving on. I didnāt want to chance anything else, like purple power.
