Well...I'm out of my element again! This is the extent of my armor collection. The M113 was done about 5-6 years ago, everything else is somewhere in the 20 year old range. Being out of my element, it has been very slow going...many hours into it, I finally have the interior done. SO many pieces to this thing!!!

Beautiful work. I never realized Takom did 1/48 armor kits. I have liked 1/48 armor kits since I used to buy the Bandai armor kits in the early 70's.

Thanks dudes! Awesome detail painting. Kinda makes you want to leave it open to view The plan is to leave the top removable. Problem is, the top has a little warp to it. It's not a huge issue. It would sit perfectly with a little pressure and some glue.

Wonderful looking interior detail! I think you are holding your own more than fine with an armor build.

This one is indeed packed with a lot of detail Jeremy. Are those two Phillips screws holding the air intake/ fan boxes down at the rear of the tank?
For not doing armor much, you've still got "a way" with building these.

Models are models, and someone that's as good as yourself will be able to make anything look great. Tanks with complete interiors take alot of time for anyone what with all the bitty parts, different colors, and the need for accents to make all the detail visible

THanks again, dudes! This one is indeed packed with a lot of detail Jeremy. Are those two Phillips screws holding the air intake/ fan boxes down at the rear of the tank? For not doing armor much, you've still got "a way" with building these. Those are molded in. My guess is they're caps for fuel tanks(?). There is a corresponding access hatch just above it on the hull top. Like Reserve said..."Models are models", it's true! It's just a bit different in the process. I've done so many airplanes, I have a built in, "second nature" system. I know what needs to be painted when...what can/should be left off for later...etc. This certainly isn't rocket surgery...just a bit different!

Sometimes an educated guess is all we've got. lol You're right about the rocket surgery part but I will say this. Going from Autos back to Aircraft has been a bit challenging for me. Luckily, I've stayed closed to forums through the years so I've kept up with the processes.

For years I built nothing but armor and heavy truck, but in late '22 I decided on a whim to try an aircraft model, have not done an armor model since go figure. I've finally gotten to the point you speak of with AC; don't have to think about what to do next

Way too cool!! Loved the image with all of gongs you have brought home from Roscoe Turner IPMS show. LOL Hope you can come to our next one in April! You are off to a great start with the little Tiger. How do you like the kit so far despite its little wrapping issue?

Your Tiger looks excellent! The interior is fantastic. Nice color selection and superb painting skills. You're going to work this up into one great model!

Thanks again, fellas! Panzer...not sure I'll be able to swing it this year. Timing could be an issue. I've got a couple fishing trips in the works. I'll have to touch base with my buddy, Adam...it's been a little while! Finally got the turret interior finished... Should be smooth sailing from here on out!

It would sit perfectly with a little pressure and some glue. Marvelous looking model. Like the others said, hard to believe this quarter scale with all the detail. One could take it for 1/35. Have you ever thought about using tiny magnets for removable parts? I have experimented with it on a 1/35 M5 Stuart, your Tiger should be of similar size.

I can’t get over the detail that’s in some of these later 1/48 armor kits OOB. Even though I figure a fella like you does a good amount of research on any given kit that you build. I’m still pretty sure that you were a bit surprised when you opened the box and saw all the parts on several different sprues.
Coming along good on this.

Whoa, they've got you building armor over here? That thing is looking really good. With this level of detail, I wonder if 48th scale armor will grow as 72nd has in recent years.

There is a pretty good selection of WWII armor available, but Cold War & Modern armor kits are pretty lacking…

If that's "out of your element" then we have different definitions of what that means. Wow, great looking build and that is an impressive looking collection of armor you have with the awards to show.
