RFM 5086 StuH42 &Stug iii Ausf G Late Production

Hi all
so it’s starting to look like a Stug. Yippee.

Ok new late type fire extinguisher ordered awaiting arrival . Late ones only have one retaining strap.
Need to make. New tube type convoy light and bracket , also four square tow rope stowage brackets.

Need to decide on pose now. Three choices :-
build it then paint it . No base
On a base
Abandoned GI taking a looking at it , then I could use actual markings ? Unsure about this
Or Stug crew at rest on vehicle . Seen some nice figures.

Looking great! I agree with Bob I would like to see this on a base with whatever figures you decide on.

Hi everyone
So managed a couple of hours today to do some model making.
So I had some EUREKA tow ropes , bad news two of the resin ends were broken . So resorted to using kit ones but removing all the detail . Stuck them down this took longer then expected think i need some new super glue lol.

Next I added a SBS late style fire extinguisher as explained earlier late ones only had one strap and due to being a Alkett vehicle also different position
Rear tail light luck enough I have a RFM panzer 4J with a panther F turret. Lucky enough it had a late style lamp but had to add the tube

Next job to make the four square stowage brackets for the tow rope

Hi all
So hull is now finished , I scratch built the square tow rope clamps , added plastic angle strip to the front hate e5ch lol.
Rebuilt the headlight so that’s all done.
Added a chain to the gun Crutch which i left hang off the front
Just got the top plate to build and side skirts .

Hi all
Having spent over a hour just trying to get a peace of etch to sit properly in the commanders hatch I went and raided the plastic reserve. Replaced it with 5thou plastic card job done in 10 minutes
Now to look at details etc when open.

Hi Everyone .
Ok on the last legs.

What left to do is side plates, stowage and add tracks and wheels .

Of so both loaders had detail added a handle lock and a plate on there other one, commanders hatch was detailed and extra handle added.

Removed the fire extinguisher until, I work out where to put it has real vehicles did not have them stowed here as they caught the spare wheels.
The placement of the spare wheel bracket was a unit thing stug unit 261

Hi Everyone

So today I primed the base which is a 8inch square piece of mdf I bought off EBay.
So like I normally do I primed and filled with Mr Surfacer normally 500 but only had some 1000 left but this will do till the 500 arrives .
I have applied a lot of coats will let dry for a few days they wet and dry sandpaper 1000 grade then i will start to clean the base up.
After that a final couple of coats of Mr surfacer followed by citadel black paint.



So back to the Stug. Oh dear sometimes I wish I did not pick a certain unit lol which means more things to add.
Ok building the spare wheels will be left off when being sprayed then fitted.
Refitted the fire extinguisher to the. Correct place for this unit due to spare wheels carriers position



Final question if I add scenery and figures to the base do I have to more it to DIORAMAS?
