Hi Everyone . so this is my next model the M34 is currently the shelf queen . MGS is awaiting paint. This is a pleasure build and will a bit of fun so no rush just going to have fun building it. so the kit is very detailed . Because it has the top rollers for Alkett version I will go with this . this means me making new tow rope clamps also change the air intake grill mesh . the mesh for my model is Rochimodel stud iii mesh screens Alkett production. Tracks I bought the late set of RFM tracks to replace the earlier version in the kit. Eureka Stud G tow ropes . unsure if I will get the update kit from RFM for the model. there is a lot of parts in the box and a lot of variations and periods. I am to build mine oct 44 to apr 45 . Ossie

This should be a quick build...LOL
Looking forward to your build on this, I haven't built an RFM kit yet, but they have my eye.

Lot of parts in that box! Are you going with the long-gun StuG, or the short-gun StuH? This should be a quick build...LOL This is indeed an issue with newer kits. Sometimes I'm totally ok falling back to a parts-light Tamiya build!

Chromdome 35 This won't be a quick build . you know what I am like lol. ok the kit has a lot of parts with lots of choices which are not indicated in the kit . example (1) pzkw iii Hull so could be converted panzer ii to a stug (2) three types of gun mantel welded to tow of the pigs head one which has the coxial mg (3) two types of fenders for the two manufactures two types of loaders shield or the remote weapons station. (4) several late gun muzzle shapes. so depending on period or manufacture the kit has a lot of bits to make any vehicle built from September 44 ( non Zim ) which suits me . but these are not easily spotted . so yes it will be detailed build . here is a few images showing some of the extras not included in the plan. two hulls three gun mantels both manufactures fenders Ossie

Hi everyone So decided on a Alkett build from nov 44 /Dec 44. Fort Bennington is a Dec 44 so good for refereance. So part one on issues Part two of the kit ok heavy tow bar they either removed the dust deflector or modified or depending date of build deleted totally Due to my build date I have hence deleted it and filled the holes in with green putty. That looks to be a beautifully detailed kit! Leagues ahead of the ancient 70’s Tamiya Stug.III/StuH.42.

Hi All thanks for the kind comments. need a bank loan at Christmas at this rate LOL.
The kit is really full of options trouble is some bits are just Alkett build and rest is Maig but Alkett parts mostly are in the box. reason I am doing a Alkett version is the top rollers are Alkett and no option currently available to buy for Maig. I am going to base it has much as I can on the Stug 3 G at fort Benning JAN 1945 Alkett build . going to try and do some more over the weekend

Hi ALL So just a little update. For today So I used B40 to fill the hole and then sanded it smooth. On the front plate removed the CHAIN anchor point has the kit is for a Maig vehicle not mine. Black mark is where I will add a new bracket and chain. Ossie

Hi Everyone so managed to do some more to the model. so because I am building a late model and that the real one only has two supports for the rear plate I copied this and left off C53s next I added the mesh under neath I used the kit part even tho I had the correct ALKETT version it was in several bits so thought has no one will see it it did not matter only me and you would know lol . once fitted it looked cool used green stuff world putty super glue on the inside I find it easier to use then most super glues . hope you like it so far Ossie

Hi Everyone So managed to get the model out today Couple of things when building the track adjuster at the back , be careful of B6 &B5 why well they are a cast item yet you make it up and there is a join also one of mine was missing a bit. Be careful when adding the torsion bars one side is at a different angle I broke one not realising this. I opted for non moving suspension was easy to build . No issues other what’s been said

Currently I am cleaning up wheels and track links . So here is where I am . Next I add the fenders again out of sequence then main structure then add the rest of the model . Ossie

Hi Ossie
Nice progress. Having recently finished this build there is a step coming up to you that is catching a few builders out.
One construction fix which was pointed out to me by a fellow modeller, involves the two strengthening ribs (parts D13 & D14) You are instructed to add these to the undersides of the gun box in step 13. What they do in essence, is create a channel which allows the gun box to align squarely onto both of the thin lower hull side plates. There are alignment cut-outs but it is all too easy to fix them a fraction off without realising, and that channel will become too narrow, and the gun box will not sit down as it should onto the hull sides. To remedy this potential fit issue, you just need to attach the parts D13 & D14 directly to the lower hull instead. There are alignment slots in the lower hull side plates too, so it’s a really simple fix.
