Aloha, ;D Here I am with another blog . However, it's a wingy this time . My father in law is becoming 60 in October and I thought it might be time for a special birthday gift. He nowadays works as a big shot in a company base in the port of Antwerp, but in the past he worked at Sabena (former national airways company) and after that at VLM (Flemish airways company) so I though it would be a great idea of doin' a wingy. An airliner seems a bit boring to me, thus I chose a WWII airplane. I've been hesitating for a long time between one of me favs - the Focke Wulf 190 D (Dora) or Ta152 - or the Messerschmitt BF109. I chose the latter because it's an iconic plane of the war, pretty much as the Spit. Scale 1:32 because I want to show some detail in. Kit of choice is the Eduard BF109E-4 Profipack edition with some nice bells 'n whistles. I'm chosing to depict Adolf Galland ride - a German ace who was respected by both German as enemy pilots. I made a start with the cockpit interior. The fuselage has some serious flash around the edges and when I have to mate the two halves some rescribing will be needed I'm afraid. Pretty scary to think about that Anywhoo, this is what I've done so far: One of the things which made me choose for an Eduard kit is the etch...especially love the cockpit dials. Well, that's it so far, no wingy virgin anymore ;D ;D I'll post her up in the Me GB as well Cheers

Hey Wouts.....you've just gotta love the pre coloured etch on these Eduard kits ;D......Nice start so far,and re the re scribing, mark the panel lines with a thin black marker, way past where you think you're gonna sand, and use Dymo tape as a guide. This should give you some nice cleane lines

Hi everyone, thanks for tagging along with me! CB: many thanks 'bout the rescribing mate well, pretty much finished most part of the cockpit today. Basecolor is the Tamiya RLM 02 Grey mixed with some white (again - thanks for that fellas!) It received a light burnt umber oil wash, but maybe I should do another session... Hope you dudes like it ^^ Cheers

Rob, thanks a lot Bossdude! Freakstah...sending over Duvel to the states ey...well, it's for sale over there, just not in the big supermarkets I think Hi Panzerdude Phil, no prob mate, glad you are tagging along ;D Well, with the Merkava done and an even shorter deadline, AND the fact that Spud is on a roll with his BF109, it's time for an update ;D I managed to add the wings to the fuselage...fit wasn't 100% ok, some filling and sanding were needed, something which I ain't fond of...still prefering tanks ;D. Anyway, sanding has been done, next is the rescribing...bit scary to say the least It seems that I sanded a gap, which actually should have been there, go figure CA glue sanded down drunk and armless Adolf Galland was checking out his ride ;D. Really starts to look like a typical Me now something which was typical to Adolf Gallands bird was that there was no 20mm (or whatever the size was...) gun in centre of the propellor Not showing very clearly, but I filled some gaps were the wing attaches to the fuselage Installed the final PE cockpit part I accidently knocked of an endtip of one of the wings...some white Milliput in place, now I have to sand it down to the original parts size. I must say I'm looking forward to the paintstage, 'cause the filling and sanding ain't a pleasure for me really, sorry for having me nag ;D Cheers

thanks a lot Gary! Luckily for me, it comes like this in the kit: it's colored etch and exist out of multiple layers which you need to glue on top of each other. Thank god I didn't need to paint that, would have scared the crap out of me ;D
Cheers
