thanks Spud, glad it's a motivation for ya , get on with it mate ;D I must say, having a second look at the photos...I think the yellow looks way too 'cold'...any suggestions on that? I assume a filter can settle things straight, but dunno which one I could use...maybe the AK Interactive one for DAK vehicles could help? Cheers

Great piece of painting there Wouts ;D.....Also,I believe that all German aircraft had a satin sheen to the paintwork, but I'm prepared to stand corrected

CB, thanks mate, and indeed, you are correct Sir Thanks Luigi ^^ Robbo, thanks as well mate Well, I entered my basement this morning at 9 o' clock, and by 14.00 hours I stopped with my work...I had to adjust some of the camo, and after that I painted the wheel bays, the wheels and I started with the mottling. It wasn't too hard and I'm fairly happy with my first attempt, although there is room for improvement. On this photo you can see some smaller things went a bit wrong... masking and then painting the red thingies...seems like some of the paint went under the Tamiyatape Here you can see I retouched the upperhard edge camo, the lighter grey/green in the middle was something which I initially forgot And I couldn't resist testfitting the wheels I sprayed some matt varnish onto the yellow areas and gave it two filters of AK Interactive filter for DAK vehicles...still a lot more to do since the yellow should look a bit more orangy...maybe some Filter for Dark Yellow and some orange filter using oil paint afterwards Hope to be able to do some more tomorrow...but that will depend on how long I'll be sleeping since I'll be working at night ;D Cheers

Nice progresses. The wheel strut angle doesn't look right to me, it seems a bit too vertical. How are you going to deal with that overspray? I'm curious to know how it can be removed

Hi Luigi, thanks! The angle of the wheels indeed isn't correct, but that's because they aren't firmly attached yet. And about that messed up paint...well it ain't overspray since it was brushpainted ;D...but to be honest, I don't know yet how to deal with this... Cheers

mmm, thanks ;D are we talking about the same thing? It's the red wingy bits right? Or do you mean the overspray on the mottling? I hope it softens a bit in the weathering stage Cheers

Spud and Gary, thanks dudes!!!! Today it was the day to give the BF a bit of character : the decals! Lots of Micro Sol applications already done, but some more might be necessary. Strange thing is that the Balkenkreuz didn't show any airbubbles when I put the decal in place, but after Micro Sol application there were several. I perforated those and reapplied Micro Sol, but still not 100% to my liking yet. And two little decals went KIA, oh well... Need to spray some more RLM 76 light blue on the back of the birdie...the area where the kill markings are had a blue underground...Since Eduard don't mention that color on the yellow surface I thought the blue would be on the decal itself, but no so sure about it so going to spray it to be sure... btw, small question for [glow=red,2,300]CS[/glow] regards method of chipping: the pen that you use, is it one like this one? www.fabercastell.com/~/media/Products/Design%20Memory%20Craft/24-25-03%20School%20and%20artist%20pen/770093%20Metallic%20PITT%20artist%20pen%20SILVER/Images/770093.jpg?bc=White&as=0&h=315&w=315 Cheers

Robbo, thanks a lot matey Spud, Luigi, thanks dudes!!!! CS, thanks on the tip, I'll try to see if I can score such a pen Wigwag, thanks, and sure can recommend this kit indeed! Martyn, thanks mate, they sure do, glad you think I nailed it ^^ Hi jackwagon, many thanks partner! Hi Andy, same here, not really a wingydude meself, but enjoying this one . Thanks dude! Gary, many thanks bro!!! Glad you think it's a killah! BJ, wow mate, thanks for that enthousiasm ;D Well, I was hoping to be able to spray a gloss coat today prior to weathering, but still some Micro Sol needed...there's also some heavy silvering here and there, especially on the upperwings, hope it'll go away with the gloss coat I sprayed the canopy yesterday and dryfitted it today. I also masked a section of the rudder and sprayed it RLM 66 Light Blue, in order to have a suitable base for the kill markings. Quite strange that Eduard forgot to mention that in the instructions, since the decal for the killmarkings got no color on it... Clearly some silvering on the fuselage, but I'm not too worried about that one this silvering I'm a bit more worried about though...and on the left you can see that the Micro Sol got an unwanted effect: some small bubbles on the balkenkreuz... Cheers

Everything is looking real nice there Wouts!! A bit odd on the Micro-Sol having that effect. I have to ask....did you apply a clearcoat prior to the dec application? Honestly a bit curious to where the bubbles are coming from unless there was an issue with the decs to bgin with! Maybe Chris might have a little insight to this one!!

Honestly a bit curious to where the bubbles are coming from unless there was an issue with the decs to bgin with! Maybe Chris might have a little insight to this one!! well, I sprayed on a satin varnish coat, but it might be possible that it wasn't sufficient on the wings. Strangely though, when the balkenkreuz were in place, there was no air trapped underneath it, it was actually quite smooth, after the Micro Sol application it started to wrinkle very heavy (but that's normal) and afterwards I got some bubbles. CS, thanks on the tip, think it got allready six treatments ;D, but I'll do some more Robbo, glad it's inspiring mate, have a go at it. I can imagine that the Eduard 1:48 kits are cool as well as Luigi says Cheers
