Some very good work going on with some of the final rigging, nose gun area and those wheels. Man, you really had me fooled with those wheels as I thought they were metal pieces in the kit until I had a good look at the parts layout and then your description on the painting and weathering up of those pieces. On a side note, I'm sorry to hear of the loss of your beloved dog, Cooper. Those guys have a habit of working their way into our hearts pretty quick and it sure does seem to take the wind out of our sails when we loose 'em. Hang in there brother Dave. Good morning Joe. Thank you kindly for the support. Sorry for the delay, work and life have slowed progress on this build of late. Though I did get a rough cut of the base for it. It's 19"x36". This is going to take up some real estate. Cheers Dave Looking forward to seeing that base Dave and no worries pal. Things have gotten a little hectic here at the Silverado household as well. That's a "life" thang.

Can't wait to see the final reveal. Model of the month candidate right there. Thank you kindly for the vote of confidence! I am currently staring at a blank piece of 3/4" MDF board that is to be the base. Or is it blankly staring? Cheers Dave

The bombs were painted and decaled at the last session at the bench. Which is to say, it's been a while. The color is Vallejo Dark Yellow (yup!, just their regular color) thinned down enough to shoot through the AB. After the decals, I hit them with AK Ultra Matt varnish. They are dead flat! I'll hit them with a pin wash at some point. Here is the latest advance for the build. The chunk of 3/4" MDF board I had laying around from a shelving project during Covid shut down. With what I paid for the two sheets, I am keeping the scraps, until they are COMPLETELY used up. Rectangle is quite blah for a base. There's a lot of space that would need filling. I have been contemplating cutting the corners. In effect, creating an oblong octagon. Still pretty clunky. I am leaning towards a rounded oblong base, much like I did with my Stuka build. The base will be "concrete", but at the nose of the Felixstowe, I plan on building part of the timber framed ramp that the aircraft would be carted on down to the water.
Cheers Dave

You have this looking fantastic! The wingspan on this is so massive creating a base for it must be a bit of a challenge. I'm looking forward to seeing that come together as well!

Gorgeous build of an impressively massive model! I think I'd be too afraid to start something of that magnitude.

Magnificent model. And that is some pair of wings. I've done a random shaped base in the past like this P-51 dio. Terrible pic, but you get the idea.
