So it begins! The Ta-152 and Stuka have cleared the bench. I gave the bench a quick tidying up.
Cheers Dave

This should be fun! Will it float in the bathtub? Nope, the bathtub is too small.

This should be fun! Will it float in the bathtub? Nope, the bathtub is too small. It’ll likely float in a tub, but it’ll have to sit perpendicular in the tub. The wing span will be just over 39 inches. I have no idea where I’ll place it when it’s done. That’s a later problem 🤣

Oh wow - can't wait to see this. Must be huge. Looking forward to seeing you pull off that paint scheme! That bird wanted to be seen. The sprues are so big and heavy that they will not fit in my sprue holders. It is a beast! It’ll be my biggest rigging project to date. Probably ever I’ve got it down to two paint schemes. The box art one with the red and white dazzle scheme, another with more varnished wood. I am leaning toward to varnished wood scheme. Cheers Dave

I've always wanted a WingNut Wings kit, seen one built and was utterly blown away. I'm bookmarking this buikd so I can live vicariously thru it.

Man, I can't wait to see this one. I have pulled up a stool as near to the front as I could find. Such a cool airplane.

Man, I can't wait to see this one. I have pulled up a stool as near to the front as I could find. Such a cool airplane. Get comfy! I feel like I need to get some progress pics up soon. I am reminded with WnW kits, is that there is a lot of painting and sub assemblies. Cheers Dave

With everyone who has said they're following this build, I figured I should post some proof of progress photos. As per usual, any constructive criticisms are always welcome. I know very little about this aircraft, other than what is offered up in the instructions. Which is very helpful and informative. These first two pictures are of the two I am deciding between. I am leaning toward N4465 in the second picture. One of the hallmarks of a WnW kit....a lot of detail painting. Not even close to being done. These are the two Lewis waist guns. The ring and post sights are PE. The underside of the Lewis magazine. The digi cam was having a helluva time focusing on this wee part.
Cheers Dave

All of that wood detail is going to look awesome! Are you planning on doing the full rigging on this as well?

Such detail work WnW provided a great starting point. Often there is subtle detail that is not immediately apparent. Lay down some primer, and whoa! Where did that come from? Cheers Dave

Very cool! I've wanted to see a build of a WnW kit. WnW made wonderfully engineered kits. That being said, they are not shake-n-bake kits. Their instructions are excellent and methodical. Be careful straying from the instructions, one might box themselves into a corner. This beastie has the most rigging and control lines I have ever attempted. I’ll post as I go, but this will not be a land speed record for a build, as I will also be attempted to represent it on a beaching trolley at waters edge. Cheers Dave
