Ben, It took about 3 days from when I emailed Spot Customer service, but I got a reply from a real person. They auto refund your funds into your wallet, but if I or anyone wants a refund the same way that they paid for the products, then just send an email to customer service and they'll issue one.
Since they already have my SK decals and the kit should be in relatively shortly, I'm just going to wait for it, but as I've always done I'll just wait for the product to come in. But now I'm going to try Hobby Search once I figure out how the site works. I can find kits, but specific decals for that kit seems to be a issue for me right now.

Thanks, Kyle! Joel, I got my decals from HobbyEasy, out of Hong Kong. I think SK Decals is Hong Kong based and HobbyEasy gets the new decals first. They shipped the same day HobbySearch shipped the kit and both arrived here at the same time, ten days later. With HobbyEasy, once you place your order and select PayPal, you wait for them to send you a request for payment, usually in a day or so. A bit more complicated than HobbySearch but not too bad. I don’t know how either company does things with credit card payments. I’m glad you got things straightened out with SpotModel. A tiny update. The kit provides decals for the switches and dials on the steering wheel and console. The decal for the console works okay, but the knobs on the wheel stand out too proud for the decal to lay down. Just for fun, I used fluorescent paint to do the wheel, just like on the real cars. They have a black light on the ceiling that lights them up at night. That way you don’t have to worry about wiring backlighting on an already very complicated steering wheel. I have some UV-activated glue that has a little light to cure it. The fluorescent paint on the 787B and a couple of my other models looks pretty cool! I’ll post some more pics once I’ve made more progress on the decals for the body. Ben

Ben, Thanks for the info on Hobby Easy. BTW, how is the shipping costs for hobby Search compared to Spot Models which is extremly expensive.

Thanks, James!
Joel, shipping for the 911 was 2028 yen, or about 18 bucks at the time. It was 3300 yen for two kits a couple of months ago. I don’t know how that compares to Spot now, because I haven’t ordered a kit from them in a while.

Finished the decals on the body. I initially had problems with them sticking to the first surface they touched, so it was almost impossible to maneuver them into position. The front stripe gave me all kinds of trouble, due both to the sticking and the complex surface around the vents. I’ll have to do some touching up in that area, but fortunately, Mr Color Fluorescent Orange is a good match. I added a drop of car wash soap to the decal water after the battle with the front stripe and the decals started cooperating. I’ve used SK decals in the past and never had a problem with them. There are some carbon fiber and sponsor decals that I need to add to the chassis and then it will be on to the clear parts. Ben

The way you got the decal to lay down in the right position on the louvered section of the hood is more than impressive!

The stripe on the hood is made up of ten separate decals, fortunately. I can’t imagine how much beer and Excedrin it would have taken if it was just one decal! Ben

Aaaaaand I’m off of the track and into the gravel overrun (but avoided the tire wall). Trying to touch up where the front stripe left gaps and the paint turned out to be too bright. SK provided a very small section of extra stripe decal, so I’m going to try to patch the offending spots with that. If it doesn’t work, I may have to order a second set and completely redo the front decals. If I do have to order another set of decals, I might pick up some 3D printed intake grills from Fat Frog for an extra six bucks, so I don’t have to try to get the screen to conform to the curve of the fender. Ben, Another one of your outstanding decal applications. The results speak for themselves.
I've run into the sticking to the paint with way more decals then I care to remember using the traditional Micro system. What I did was change the system to warm water with a drop of dishwasher detergent rather then Set on the model and then slide the decal onto the model. Once the decal is set in place I then apply Set then Sol. Sticking problems just vanished for me.

Thanks!
For these particular decals, a drop of McGuires car soap finally did the trick.
The repairs to the front stripe decals are pretty ugly. I've been using tiny pieces of the extra decal to fill in the damage and then melting it all down with Solvaset. Once I hit it with a clear coat, it should look okay from three feet. There's also a printing flaw in the right door number plate that SK's QC folks missed, but I'm going to live with it. I was very close to just stripping the body and ordering some decals for the Weathertech Mobile 1 car. I'm not liking the livery on this car as much as I thought I would, but I find the others to be kind of boring. That's still an option at this point....
I'll post some pics later.

I think I've managed to salvage the front strip after all. It looks okay if you don't get too close. I'm not quite as frustrated with it as I was yesterday. The carbon fiber decals took a lot of heat and Solvaset to get them to lay down. I'll let everything dry for a couple of days before I clean the body up and clear coat it. I added some tire details from a Slixx sports car tire markings decal set and then toned everything down with pastel black. The tires are a lot less shiny in person. I still have to clean up the black window trim, paint the lights, and get the mesh screen to fit the rear fender vents. Ben

Ben, Great save on the front decal. As for the Carbon Fiber decal, the effort was well worth it. For heat I'm assuming that you use a small hair dryer rather then hot water?

Thanks, guys!
Joel, I used a Q-tip dipped in very hot water and pressed the decal down. The hair dryer was a little too much for such a small area. still ended up having it split in some spots but was able to patch them with spare bits of carbon fiber decal.

Ben, Painting then decaling have been my favorites for years, but I've taken a change of course as I've just got burnt out and wanted to try building street cars that I grew up seeing both on the street and in the magazines. Plus most of the kits seem some what easier to build which is a much for me these days as I've specialized in loosing and breaking small parts on all of the models I recently attempted to build.

I understand. That's one of the reasons I build all of mine as curbsides. I don't want to get bogged down in small engine parts, etc. Of course, I still managed to lose the exhaust tip on my last street car, so I must be cursed all around!

The clear coat is done. I took my airbrush apart and cleaned the daylights out of it before I sprayed the clear coat and still got a black speck on the left rear fender. It's on the decal, so I don't want to try to polish it out and risk damaging it. It won't be seen once the model is in the display case, anyway. I've been thinking of buying a cheap Harbor Freight airbrush to use exclusively for clear paint. The mirrors have six decals each, not counting the little bits of extra film I'm going to have to use to close up some gaps. I'd hoped to paint them, but of course this car used a different shade of Pepto Bismol pink than the other Wynn's cars I've built, so the paint I used on the Wynn's AMG GT3 and Ford GT LM doesn't match. Once I finish with the clear parts, I'm going to park it until the fender intakes get here. I'm going to start my next project while I'm waiting. Ben

Those decals look like a real paint in the neck to get set and get all lined up Ben but you indeed managed to salvage the whole thing well. I hear what you're saying about an airbrush exclusively for clear coating. I've been tempted a few times to do just that!! She's coming along nicely buddy.
