Show Your Revell Monogram Builds

Once upon a time, on another site, there were those who regularly slandered anything made by Revell or Monogram as junk and “unbuildable”. At that place in counter action to them fighting words, I started the “Show Your Revellogram Builds” thread.

So in the spirit of that thread I’ll start on here to share love for these kits

Oh I am all over this! I am generally a pure OOB builder and love these old kits for the challenge of making them look good with just what you get and some paint.

Great builds, everyone!

I have quite a few built Monogram kits. Here are some that I’ve uploaded to Imgur over the years.

A-37B



F-100D converted to an F using the Fox 3 Studios conversion.


F-101B converted to an RF-101G using the C&H Aero conversion.

A few more F-100 conversions. The F-100A on the right was a sort of proof of concept to see if I could do it. The F-100F is another C&H conversion. Full article on the Modeling Madness site. The F-100C on the left is another DIY conversion and was featured in FSM many, many years ago.

Don't fall for this scam!  He is just trolling us in the hopes we will anonymously mail him random Monogram kits, thinking it will make him mad, but in reality, just so he can add them to his already large Monogram stash.

Oooh! I enjoyed this thread back when it was on that other board. I'll go ahead and share again, here.

I dove deep into the archives and came out with a few oldies. Some of these don't exist anymore, and I had forgotten that I had built 'em. It's been fun to go back and see how far my modeling, and photography, have come.

Here are all the Revellogram builds that I have photographic evidence of building. Starting with the oldest and ending with the latest (more or less), here they are, dating back to the time that I started to "get serious" about modeling, about 20 years.

All of 'em are 1/48, except for the Saturn V (1/144) and the Shuttle (1/72).


































































Hope you all enjoyed my trip down memory lane! Of course, I'll post more to this thread as I build more. I have a lot of Revellogram stuff in my stash!

In the 80s, Jr High - High School the 1/48 Revell and Monogram WW2 aircraft were my favorites, B17, B24, B25, B26, B29, P47, P51 etc. Long gone now, I still like Revell and Monogram kits I've just gone down scale in aircraft to 1/72.

What fantastic builds fellas!! I’ve done quite a few old monograms myself. Love them. I’ll have to dig up some photos from the archives.

Well, I do have a few Revell or Monogram models to show.   Monogram kits were the most available models for me when I returned to scale modeling in the late 1980s.   Our local Winn's department store had a small stock of kits, and I think I eventually bought them all, starting with the Monogram A-10, my first "adult" build around 1988.  Here are some photos of each, most at the Cameron airport with a few shots from the airport in nearby Rockdale:
