Steve, I really like the result. Why does the primer look pink, bTW? It's those stupid energy saving bulbs and me being too lazy to change the white balance on my camera not sure how much energy I'm actually saving though as I've had to put up a fitting with 5(no joke) bulbs in it just to get some light I can work in Still keep the politicians happy while they swan around in 5.0 litre cars and jet planes

i think the hardest part of a wreck is to know what and where the damaged and missing pieces should come from.
you have this mastered it looks like.
very nice paint work as well.

Thank you kindly Boots, I've looked real hard at how to do the UJ on this one and to be honest it's why I started it, but now it's together I've found the nose is only 3/4 inch across and I've not the patience to mask one up at that size Next time eh? Thanks Boss, it's changed plan slightly but it's going somewhere! Joe, you're right! Leaving bits off is the hardest part of a wreck build IMHO, not sure I've got it totally right here yet... But I've a plan Thanks for the support Leon , glad to have you here Not sure there's much you can learn from my builds Gary I'm trying to learn from yours! I'd love to be able to paint like you do buddy

Sorry, Mark, posts crossed there buddy, it's Tammy paint straight from the jar, it's a bit dark for where I'm going but that'll allow me to lighten the whole thing up, decals and all, to give the faded look... I hope Thanks, Wouter , blue going on later this afternoon.... Dog walking to do first

Thanks Gary, shaping up now Sam, go on, get that Wessex going again, you know you want to cheers Luigi
Thanks for the advice Mark I've been reading up on the technique and it seems to work best on Matt finishes. So the way to go is decals, flat coat then the fade as you describe. So tonight I applied the decals with a bucket of Sol , need to wait for them to flatten out now Glazing is also in, I'll leave this unmasked for the flat coat. The first step in producing UV weathering effect. Photo update tomorrow
