thanks for the support Leon, good to have you here Cheers Mark, watch this space Very quick update for you.... Decals, or those that are going on are...well.. on Used a gloss coat and Sol to make them sit nice and tight on the rough paintwork. The whole thing was then sealed with a Humbrol rattle can of satin acrylic ready for a bash at fading effects with oils Tally ho! wish me luck ACW Cheers Steve

Sorry DP, posted crossed there. Thanks for the support buddy The faded stuff is a pain in he butt though T, Yep, I'll keep going with it, even if it ends up just a learning piece, have to start somewhere right? Joe, the decals went on really well with Sol, even surprised myself ! Oil fading.....mmmm....Mark's (Boo) Advise on here has helped and lot as I knew nothing to start with, but it's definitely an skill you need to learn well I'll do a bit more research on the web and hope that Gary give us a bit of a SBS eh Gary eh?

OK modelling friends, due to popular demand... here's an update Over the last couple of weeks I've tried to fade the paint and decals with oils and weathered with enamels all over a flat coat to seal the decals. Not too sure on the result, it's a first go at the technique so I'm not unhappy, just not sure I've got what I wanted I've do a bit more and start to pull it into the groundwork and see where it takes me ACW as ever

Thank you MrD, As I say, I'm happy with it as a learning piece , in truth I found it harder to know what to leave on than what to wipe of if ya know what I mean Cheers CB Yes I've not touched the rotor head yet. I did paint the Radome but the colour came off with the oil thinner, strange as it was Tamiya acrylic, still it did leave a watermark to work to later

re the radome and rotorhead,it might work if you make them look corroded, oxidised,as opposed to over exposed? Notice I didn't say 'rusted'!
