Hi all well looks like im firston the figures :0)...............A couple of things have happened, first dog ate the greek aristocrat, hope it makes him sick..........:0(..........and George has been put on hold for a while.............So im attempting to sculpt a 1/10 scale bust, if it turns out ok hopefully i can find someone to market it.... Its going to be of Edward the Black Prince, im sculpting it in super sculpy then casting it in resin. Ive been having lesson on face sculpting for the last few months and after about 15 to 20 attempts this is what i have done. This one has been baked and is now hard, im going to add hair and a beard in milliput and then make a mould, which is something i havnt done before so we will see how it goes, if it turns out well and you fancy painting the finished thing let me know and ill send one out [Any comments, helpfull hints or critisisms welcome regards Paul

Hi All Cheers for the comments, i love the new site. jackwagon i think the greek was destined never to be......................... Well ive added the hair and beard in milliput, Now as someone who hasnt done this before im wondering if the best way is to sculpt the whole figure, fitting it together loosley, and then taking it apart and making the moulds........or once a part is complete and fits where its supposed to go, make the mould then of that part.......................if that makes sense ?? Any suggestions would be appreciated [Once the milliput has dried it will be sanded and shaped better All for now Paul PS dog has been ill, obviously oil paints didnt agree with him

Hi all Ive been working on the right arm, this is the one that will be holding the helmet. The basic shape was made from super sculpy and then the various pieces of armour from milliput. I first put a thin layer of milliput over the hardened sculpy and then used a fine syringe needle to get the chainmail affect. Then starting from the top the Pouldron (shoulder guard ) was added then the upper Vambrace and then the Couter at the elbow and then finally the lower Vambrace on the forearm. Im going to make the hand separately as this will be holding his helmet i need to make that first to ensure a good fit These still have straps and buckles to be added and then a good sanding with some very fine paper all for now Paul

Hi All Mack np glad you could make it ive spent the last few hours of bench time sanding the arm trying not to lose the detail, ive also added the neck guard on top of the poldron and the arrow guard on the couter. Apart from the gauntlet this is now finished, one more to go . Also a couple of pics of the start of the great helm, this is super sculpy and still soft, the problem i found was getting the size correct, but ive put this one against the head and allowing for hair this would be a snug fit. ill have to bake this then hollow it out Once the helmet has been shaped ill add the crest and drape to see how it fits on the figure, ive also shaped the torso a bit more , thought he looked like hed had too many doughnuts All for now Paul

Hi All Cheers Boots i do my best ;D bit more done to the helmet, iv baked it, shaped it, filed it and sanded it. Added eye slits and formed and edge, ive also hollowed some of it out as the bottom half can be seen when its mounted on the figure. I then added the hat, i know it looks strange but theres still a lion to go on top of it , these were done with milliput so they will be left to harden im on with the lion at the moment so if it gets done ill put a few more pics up all for now Paul

Hi All What can i say but many, many thanks for all the comments and feedback, its really appreciated ;D Ive been having a go at the lion on top of the helmet, the original was made from a wooden frame and then stuffed out with straw and covered with gold material, some pics show it with a crown on and others leave the crown off, i took some pics of his original armour in Canterbury cathedral and although it doesnt show a crown there, there is speculation that it did have one, so crown or not , you will also notice that the mane is missing from the original lion So this is my attempt, still a bit more work on it and i think ive probably put more detail in than was needed Youll notice that on the pics of the left side the hat and the lions foot are a bit squashed, this is because it will be against his breast plate where hes holding it. Let me know about the crown All for now Paul

Hi All Thanks for the feedback guys, so the crown wins , jackwagon i think ill try your idea and make it from foil. Had a go at the right hand, a bit difficult as i sculpted it then the helmet didnt fit , so i had to re do the helmet hat and the cloth at the back to suit the hand, he wore leather mittens which had the armour plates sewed onto them. ive put this together so that the milliput dries in the correct position. More detailing to do on the mittens and the plates when its dry. I thought id put up a colour pic of what hes supposed to look like colour wise All for now Paul
