Thanks fellas! Well, now that I knew I could thin the AK paints with Tamiya Lacquer Thinner I thought it was worth a shot so I decided to buy their Rust paint set Worked out ok, although, pigments were still heavy on the two lighter tones, making spraying not that easy. All in all quite pleased Tomorrow hopefully ready for some varnish and who knows hairspray Cheers

thanks a lot for the great comments dudesters! Andy, sure would love you see you tackle one of my favs: the JP! Well, started with the first stage of the HS tech. today: I applied a layer of a kind of Russian greenish stuff . After that it was fun chipping! I sealed the tank afterwards with Mr. Hobby's Clear, and hopefully tomorrow some sandcolor and camouflage applied ^^ Anyone who can provide me with some markings on the turret on Egyptian T-62's btw? Cheers

Nice chipping, Wouts But aren't egyptian tanks supposed to be painted directly in some sand colour?

thanks mate, and I dunno, I know jack about it... I asked a bit round regarding that issue and people told me it was ok to paint them first green and then the sand color... now, the comforting fact is that not much of the green will be seen afterwards Cheers

Thats some fine chippin' brother Wouts...turned out great! I dont know squat about that either, but sounds reasonable that they woulda sprayed sand color over the russian green. Well done man. Gary

Thinking they "others" had it right....being Rusasian made and the cast-offs are sold off to make roof for new ones if not fund economic issues. They could be all shdaes of green dpending on where they originated! Woouts - That is some nice chipping you have going on!! Can't wait to see the color on top!!!

Looking very good Wout's.
As for the salt over HS, been doing it for a couple of years, trick is to spray the paint at a lower pressure so as not to blow off the salt. Some will fall off but not as much as with high pressure. The HS helps hold the salt better than water and also allows you to use water for the HS chipping method.
This is gonne be very cool when the weathering is on.

Andy, I got that from T's thread mate , though most of the salt flew away when I started airbrushing, lol Flew off or you licked 'em off? LOL Your little tank is looking better and better every time you post. When are you going to finish that Tiggy? My baby has been feeling kinda lonely... he needs a playmate!

thanks a lot fellas, quite pleased with how it turned out as well. And as I mentioned elsewhere, it's a technique so easy and fun to do Andy: you're Tiggy will be lonely for a whoooole long time mate, she'll stay naked for a while . Rest assured, I still got my other whitewashed Tiggy '100' though well, regarding next steps I'm a bit in the blue, though I've checked T's and Robs awesome stuff there are a gazillion ways to do it. I was thining to add some additional rusty chipping using the AK colors and after that a brown wash or filter and maybe a pinwash. What do you guys reckon? Cheers
