Gary I think it is perfect. It has dust and dirt but not overdone. She looks like she hit the beach then drove to town. As long as you don't cake on the dirt and mud, this is perfect for what your wanting to represent.

I agree with Rob, if this is just a couple days after D-Day, still very close to the beaches and supply lines so not much need to be hauling stowage around just yet. Looks good with the shoes on, almost done!

FABULOUS Gary I'm not a Sherman expert but I have slept at a Holiday Inn and I think I see a couple of errors. Maybe one of these heartless Sherman types will point them out but I can't bring myself to do it. Man she sure is a looker Tony

Man she sure is a looker Tony Tony, if you stayed at the Holiday inn Express, then you absolutely qualify to point out any mistakes. No feeling will be hurt my man. Thats how we learn and improve buddy. If you see an error, please feel free to point them out. Gary

I'm too busy drooling to notice any mistakes. Its hard to believe that this is only 1/48 scale. Truly a work of art!!!!!! The paint and weathering is just plain sick! Man I really love that thing!! Get some pictures up in the gallery, then over to the Model of the Month............... ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Gary I feel the same way besides I live in the Show Me state.
Like I said I "Think" I see two errors, the angles in the pictures are why I think I see them.
#1- Back in those days the charging handle on the 50 had a wooden sleeve over it like the butt grips.
#2- The idler wheels were steel on steel NO rubber tire like the road wheels.
It's the little things people see but doesn't register that makes a model pop.
Fine work Gary Tony

Got tissues? You made me cry... nah, but I do agree with your statement. Again, beautiful work on the little Shermie. Easy fix for those that Tony mentioned. I made same mistake on the 50 on my M24 earlier. LOL
You going for smaller scale again? You are one brave man...

He's a Texican, Andy I heard they're like that from WildBill but they also spin tall tails too. Tony

Very nice work Gary, have to keep reminding myself that it's not 1/35! One other small thing to point out in addition to what Tony mentioned...the tail lights on US vehicles aren't the same on both sides. Only the top oval on the left side was red, the bottom was clear/smoke gray as was both top and bottom on the other side. Check this thread and scroll about halfway down for pic references to show what I mean. armorama.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=SquawkBox&file=index&req=viewtopic&topic_id=56670 Easy enough to correct if you're so inclined!

Hello fellas, Thanks to everyone for the kind words. they are greatly appreciated. Tony - Thanks for the info. I will correct the charging handle. The idler wheel has graphite on it. I guess shadows made it look to be rubber. I may even make a new charging handel for it as the one on it is a tiny stub. TEXICAN??? Its TEXAN!!! And the only tall tails i speak of is that i have a full head of hair (Im bald as a egg), and that im in prime physical health (i have the back of a 10 year old boy and 50-60 pounds over weight). OK, OK! I may have over stated my prowess a time or two to some ladies. ;D ;D ;D Thanks Tony. Bill - Thanks bud. I completely missed the mark on those tail lights. I got to remember its not a car. Ill get it staghtened out as well. Thanks for the link Bill. Andy - I went through a box of tissues trying to post that. ;D ;D Thanks fellas, Gary

Gary, You've got to forgive Tony, he's impressionable! ;D I made the same mistake when I built a Sherman many years ago and some kind soul pointed it out to me, otherwise I would never have known either. Glad to pay it forward!
