Dicky- Never thought about that but you have a valid point. Appreciate your nice words about my little panzer. Sometimes I can be the worst critical of my work and it would drive me nuts if I don't do the base right. ;D Need your honest opinion... I have been thinking about adding a dead Russian at the bottom of trench. Would it be too corny? Might order this set from Verlinden and use one of those... Gary- LOL!!! Following countless WIP threads by those masters for more than four years really helped I guess. Thanks bro!

OK I am calling it done. It has been a fun build and I will not hesitate to build another Dragon Imperial kit. I might add a dead russian soldier at the bottom of the trench if you guys think it's a good idea... Its late and I can not find the memory card for the Canon camera so I will take pictures tomorrow. Stay posted... have a great one!

Nice work on the base mate, really like it. About the dead Russian...why not I'd say. There often seems to be a taboo about adding dead figures or even bloodspill, but I think that's ridiculous. After all it was a part of the game and the dreadfull reality may be shown if it's up to me. So I'd say, go with it mate!
Cheers

Wouter- COOL! All right I will go ahead and order that set from Verlinden. Always wondered if judges have thing against dead bodies at the shows... thanks bro!
Bigjohn- Thanks my friend! Glad you enjoyed... hope I didn't make you wait too long for me to finish it. LOL Three months and half... not too bad! Hopefully I will do better next time...
Spud- Appreciate you tagging along since day one! Your feedback was always helpful and encouraging. What's your PayPal account number? I will go ahead and order Russian dead soldiers... I can always take it off if it doesn't work out.

Hello Andy, A brilliant build from you Andy!!! The base is fantastic as is but the figures would be a nice touch as well...showing the reallities of war should you want to portray that. Or the figures could be rolling around with laughter at the site of the Show me something thread!!! ;D Gary

Super, the base really sets of the tank nicely and gives it an air of movement, something very difficult to achieve, personally I would add an abandoned Russian machine gun or some hastily abandoned personal gear in the trench just to add a little bit more drama to the scene. Pete

Snipersmudge- Thanks buddy! I really LIKE what you are thinking... abandoned Russkie MG or so. They will be a lot easier to paint too! LOL Now I need to shop around as I don't have anything Russian in my stash...
Is there a good Russian MG set that I can buy anywhere?

Very nice work on the base and total project Andy! My vote would be against the figures because of the placement at the edge of the base and the distraction that would present vs. the main focal point of the tank...but that's just me. Ultimately it's your scene, do what you want with it from a creative stand point. ;D

Dicky- Thanks mate! Really appreciate you tagging along. It was fun blogging here and I will do it again hopefully my speed picks up just a little.
Bill- Thanks buddy! I really like the suggestion of using abandoned MG instead of a dead body. Looking at the base and there is not much room and its little steep & uneven. Appreciate you sharing your thought! (beer icon)

Boy, it has been a while since I used the good camera Canon. I completely forgot what setting I had last time. I should have kept notes so it will help me shoot better pictures. I had ISO setting at lowest as possible at 80. It has a setting from 80 to 1600. And I used Macro setting for close shooting. Neutral color was set too. Did I miss something critical to make the camera work better? I took many shots using three different posters. Let me know which you liked best... Light blue: Black: Light Gray: Help... thanks!

Panzerjager & bigjohn, thank you... appreciate your votes!
I thought light gray came out nice too. Yes, I always use tripod when I take pictures. And I use the timer to take pics at 2 seconds so I don't have to hold the camera at all.
I am afraid I am missing something... maybe one more light at the top? I use two professional photographer bulbs on both sides.

Gary- THANK YOU my man! LOL about black T-shirt... not one of those old Harley shirts, huh? Wouter- Thanks for your vote!!! Looks like light grey works best. I looked at the pictures again this morning and I like light grey too. I see too much blue reflection on the panzer itself. Snipersmudge- PERFECT! Looks like it comes with two MG sets. I wasn't planning to do Russian armors but you just gave me an idea of using Russian soldiers as they can be used in my future builds passing abandoned German armor or something like that! Thank you so much... appreciate your help! TRM- Happy Birthday!!! Thanks for your comment! Enjoy your day and hope you got some good stuff for your birthday. ;D

Andy,
Every camera is "different" and will "see" things differently as a result in terms of how it interprets colors, light temperatur/exposure, etc. Virtually impossible without a lot of fine-tuning to get two digital cameras to take the exact same photo side by side. Add into the mix the fact that computer monitors are all different as well and it becomes quite the challenge to get the photos to show the "real" model. On my monitor at least the light gray background seems to be producing the most consistent results and of course they all look good because of the subject being photographed!
The most important setting to get right on your camera is the white balance for your designated photo area and lighting. Once you get that set, everything else will come much easier.

Bigjohn- Tiger? Tiger? Tiger? I can't hear you! Can you scream louder? LOL Man, can't wait either! I almost started last night but my wife won't allow me because it was the last night of brother-in-law's stay. Please don't hesitate to let me know if I blog too much! I just realized I posted nearly 125 pics for this. Jeez! Bill- Thanks man! I suspect the white balance setting was not set properly so I need to revisit it. It is overdue for me to get one of those photographer lighting "tent". I checked online and they are being sold for only $34. www.obnphoto.com/item/17in_product_photography_photo_tent_light_box_lamp.htmlIs that what you use? Gary- Thanks buddy! It is always a pleasure having you along. Be on look out for a Tiger I thread coming up soon... ;D
