Any progress is good progress Andy! Sounds like you're already making plans to take advantage of your boys being away. The fig looks good in the turret even sans head...will look the part for sure once everything is all squared away.

Boss- Thanks! Will keep that in mind. I will holler if I really need something. Oh, I think I do need a rusted out Jagdtiger on a nice looking diorama. Any chance you have one to spare? LOL Chris- Thanks! Hope the eyes will look better after being primed. Keep your fingers crossed and drink a beer for luck. Bill- Thanks! Little process today. Hope to see much more tomorrow since my wife is going out with her sis in law leaving me alone at home with the dogs. Am really looking forward to it... ;D

Boss- evilBay? Bet your work fetch big bucks. Any chance you will post it for 'Buy It Now' for $9... call it Blue Light Special once a while. Where are all of the Kmarts now? T- Thanks man! Am sure boys are having a great time at the camp. My wife and I went out for a very nice dinner date and it has been a while since we did that. Gary- Exactly! But I will have to catch them first before they run to their video games... Satch- Hey!!! I am so glad you sold me this kit. It has been great and I am having too much fun you can see. LOL Thank you so much for the wheels. I started to work on them today. ;D

Wouter- Thanks man!!! Always good hearing from you. Its official! My next build will be Tiger I #6600 as I picked up Friuls for it yesterday. ;D
Tony- Jeez! Comments from two kings of PE world on same day made my day. Thanks! Following your WIPs for long time really helped. Found some tricks to make it easier dealing with PE. Sometimes its just too way much like the jack! Like you said experience will help me so maybe next time it will be a breeze... ;D
Thanks again!

Eastrock- Thanks!!! Gary- Boys are back home today but they are very exhausted from the camping. It means I will have another good day of bench time. Guys- Update on my Pz III... Picked up the Friuls from hobby shop this week and started working on the tracks along with wheels. It is now officially armed... barrel from RB. It didn't fit so Dremel tool was very useful to make the hole bigger. Now it is starting to look like a little tank now. Off to my bench...

T- Thanks man! I have been buying Friul sets since my first build couple of months ago. I have five sets now and I hope to buy more. Somebody has to keep up with our friend Spud. Bill- Thanks buddy! Glad you liked the barrel. The old kit barrel was in two pieces and they were nearly crooked. Why waste time while you can spend few dollars for a beautiful aluminum barrels? Guys- Quick update... Friul tracks are done. My thumbs are little sore but glad its over. I can not remember and I don't see instructions how many links for each side. I recall it was 93 for Pz III??? Just for now... 95 links each. I used dress pins... a great tip from a friend. I hear too many bad things about using the supplied wirings. You can see I have left few pins uncut. Its a lesson I learned from my previous build. I will cut them at the end after the track fit perfectly. That way I can remove few links if necessary to make them fit better...

Andy,
Pz IIIs typically took 92-93 links so depending on your idler position and desired sag, you will probably need to remove a couple depending. Nice trick with leavint the pins uncut on the last few, should give you just the flexibility you need!

ok, now I know what Spud uses as trackpins ;D ;D ;D. Nice trick I must say! However, I must admit I've never had issues with the supplied wire, what stories did you hear dude?

true, I usually push the pins in using a cutter to hold the end, goes smoothly...I tried it by hand as well, but ended up with the pin in my finger ;D ;D ;D

Spud- Glad you agree about the pins. I am so scared to ask you how many pins did you buy for the friuls! LOL Rob- Thanks boss! Having a great Father's Day weekend... lost count of time at workbench but at least six hours so far and expecting more after the movie 'Alien 4'. Boys want to see all four Alien(s) movies before we see the new movie on Tuesday... Bill- Thank you so much! (BEER icon) I was hoping you saw my question. Figured it has to be around 93. Learned a lesson I had too many during my previous build StuG using Friuls and it was P-I-A removing few links!!! So from now on I will keep few pins inserted until they are fit. Wouter- I heard plenty at other forums... they have to pre-drill sometimes. Using pins I don't bother to pre-drill at all as they are like wiring on viagra pills! ;D You should try that... I timed myself ten links in less than four minutes. I apply little CA on pins before I insert them.

Guys- Thanks guys for stopping by!!! Few more hours yesterday... another update I worked on the turret pretty much. Was not impressed with the smoke dischargers and my PE sets didn't have those cause I ordered the wrong set for Ausf J/L instead if Ausf M. So worked on kit parts... thinned them real good as you can see. Added wirings in the rear... I don't think they were wireless back in the 1940's. Dragon missed this... my "bible" showed they had a hook hidden in the corner... The turret is almost complete. Will add the hatch at VERY end cause I always break them off. Planning little more PE work on the stowage box tonight hopefully... The building is about 95% complete then it will be ready for next stage. Thanks for looking!!!
