Ben- Thanks mate!!! Sorry for not getting back to you sooner as I didn't have much access to internet in Canada. I consider it a nice break to spend more time with my family. I used either .35mm or .25mm and they worked good I prefer .35mm since it is stronger. Appreciate your the offer! No need to because I was able to order couple of Antenna sets from a vendor in Poland and they arrived today! Just in time before I hit the road again for a week long conference. Check it out in my next post...

Guys- Back home but only for two days before I hit the road again for a week so no bench time and no update this time. However, my order for star antennas from Poland has arrived today... Armor Scale set is very NICE! After studying several pictures of actual Pz III Ausf K, I noticed none of them had all three antennas up at the same time. Only two at most... so does it means the third antenna was just a back up or what? I was planning to have all three antennas up as I thought they would look just cool. But is it historically correct? Maybe I should say screw it and do it anyway... This is the panzer I am going after... #02 Can't wait to return to my bench after the conference in Louisville!

Andy,
The star antenna was fixed while the other two were on the positionable masts that could be raised/lowered on demand or when in use. IIRC (am away from my references) the other two sets fitted with the masts were different types of equipment for communication (one may have been for coordination with the Luftwaffe while the other was for ground units?) and so would only be raised when in use. Plus the position of the masts would be an issue if the turret needed to rotate if both were raised at the same time, so that may be a factor in why you don't see them both up in photos of vehicles on the move or headed into combat situations?

Spud, Martyn, Gary, & Wouter- Thanks guys!!! I am back from two weeks absence... vacation was great and the conference was good except for the heat wave hitting Louisville. Bill- Thanks buddy... it makes sense!!! Right now I really want to have all three up and standing. Understand star antenna is always fixed. It will help show everybody it has three antennas instead of one or two. Here's my plan... the tank commander figure is about to fire his flare gun to start an offense attack so it means his tank is about to be on move. Or it can be at look out at highest point while communicating with both Luft and ground forces? Mike- LOL Glad you liked the StuG. You can find more pictures I posted here earlier... I think in the Gallery section. Again it was great seeing you at your shop. Working with PE wasn't easy at beginning but it became easier when you deal with it more. I have been following those guys who posted a lot of great WIPs dealing with PEs like Tony (Pvt Tony), Wouter and many others for a long time. I use the PE folding 'The Bug' all the times. I am thinking about getting a bigger set. And I use CA from Loctite pretty much now. Sometimes Gator glue for very small PE pieces. Hope this helps. Winter camo? I need a break after doing the StuG. LOL This time it will be just Panzer Grey like shown in the picture on the left I posted earlier. Again, welcome to MCS!!!

Mike sorry but what is Imperial? It some series of limited Dragon kits? Alexander- Thanks for stopping by. Imperial series were old kits released from Dragon many years ago in the 90's. You can find plenty of them in eBay now or even at model shows and shops.

Finally hit my work bench last night after two weeks of road trips. I was about to have my panzer primed then realized I forgot to do two things... Spare tracks: Used Friul leftovers... Muffler: Forgot to add texture by using Mr Surfacer 500 before I hit the road. Now it looks like one... I hope to have it primed soon if I haven't forgotten something else... thanks for looking!

Thanks guys! Yes, it is good to be back. Still little hectic around the house with the Danish visitor staying with us. He returns to Denmark on Saturday then things will return to my regularly scheduled program. Right now he only wants to eat steaks and hamburgers until he returns home... LOL Spud- Now I am not too sure about getting bigger set... once a while I struggle to fold large piece so maybe the 7" will do the job?

Mike- I thought about getting that Etch Mate at recent show but I spent the money on kits instead. Oops! Answer to your Mr. Surfacer question, I use one of those cheap Testor paint brushes (with white handle) and cut the brush short & uneven. Apply the primer and allow it dry for about 30 seconds then just attack it! Apply more if you need to. Easy and fun! Wings and pizzas? Sound like a perfect plan. We come every summer you know now. Wouter- Thanks buddy! Please don't let the picture hurt your feeling... drinking the world best beer! LOL I still haven't tried Duvel yet... My "fake" Danish son Andre' brought me a six pack of Tuborg... you can't find it anywhere here in USA unfortunately. BUT this should make you happy. I asked him if he has tried Duvel and he said yes he loved it too! And he told me that I have to try it too.

mmm...two bad things you are doin' on photo: one: that's Tuborg ;D, two: man you are drinkin' it from a can? It should or from the bottle or out of a glass ;D
Cheers bro!

Looking great Andy.
Nice idea for the muffler - using the Mr Surfacer 500. I'll give that a go.
I don't know if you saw what I said about the glue used for fixing on false nails - I use it for PE (small parts) now and it's perfect. It's active ingredient is CA so it holds well. They also sell a ratarder to remove the nails! It comes in a little pot with a brush fitted to the lid and it costs about a £1 a pot over here. Try it!
I must get myself one of those big etch mates - it will be an expensive but incredibly useful addition. I've seen ones for between £30 - £50 and will have to get one asap.
My replacement Firefly is in the post as I type and should be here tomorrow but I'll wait a while before tackling it again as I have the Jeep to complete plus I recall a certain GB starting in September!
What plans do you have for the paint scheme on this Panzer Andy?
Looking nice and tidy so far!
Ben

Wouter- Drink out of can? I used to when I was in college... MANY moons ago. My buddy always keep few glasses in his freezer so it was so refreshing and smooth! Now I am on a mission to look for that Duvel beer around here... I was surprised to see Tuborg in cans too because I only saw bottles while I was in Denmark. I don't blame Andre for his decision to bring cans because we don't trust those guys throwing bags around at the airport. Spud- I suspect he had one too much Duvel when he posted... Bense- Thank you for the nice words! Ben- Thanks bro! Same here I think it costs $50 for those Etch Mate sets. Looking forward to see you finish the little jeep next. The paint job will be standard German Grey like shown in the pictures of #02 Ausf K. This time I am going to use AK Interactive modulation set for the first time. Bigjohn- My buddies complain I am not red neck enough... now I know why! I should be drinking beer out of the can so I will do that next time I hang out with them. Any tip from you would be very helpful! LOL

Steve- No worries! Same here I get distracted by beer and women VERY EASILY... thanks for stopping by. Appreciate it!
Mr Surfacer 500 is a MUST... I can live without MS 1000 & 1200 which I still use them as primers and I want to try Vallejo and other acrylic primers for a change.
