Never thought I would like a hole in the ground as much as i like that one. Not to mention what's "filling" the hole too.

Looks like it's been putting up quite a fight! Love the look of the shell casings and bricks, you can almost smell the cordite!

Thanks for all the positive comments boys i have been away for a few days sorry for not replying sooner Shellback: concerning the battle damage 1st up i heated a drill bit lightly touched the model gave it a little twist to get the circular shape this was then left to cool. 2nd stage get a soldering iron and lightly touch the outer edge of the dent you have just made with the drill bit this gives the melted metal effect. 3rd stage with a scalpel i stabbed around the shell hole to give the effect of schrapnel damage concentrate this effect near the top of the shell hole. if this makes no sense i could do a quick SBS in this thread if this helps mate? Sorry for slow progress on this as i have illnesses in the family and im jobless prioritys are elsewhere at the moment i should have an update soon..... Dan B I went back and found your answer Dan . I'll experiment and get the feel . Thanks for this info and for the SBS offer . There are probably a few others that would like to know this technique as well . Appreciated . ;D

Fantastic Dan. Love the ground work and all the small items added. The bricks and shells look perfect. Man I really have to do one of these street bunker things soon, looks like fun.

yup, superb stuff Dan, I really love your attention to detail mate.
But I agree with jackwagon, there's something with the photos, or too much lighting or the contrast is too stark
It ain't easy to master a camera though...I have a DSLR since March (got it for my birthday from my girlfriend) and just recently discovered some setting. I tend to play with the shutterspeed now. Macro shots rule though!
Cheers

Looking good as always Dan! If I had to guess on the difference in the photos, I'd say it's probably down to the white balance not being properly set going off how the background is showing up. DSLRs are amazing in their capabilities (I use a Canon DSLR myself) but they do take some fiddling with to get them settled down properly.

Can't help with the camera and you need no help with the project. Fine job on an unusual subject, don't think I'd have thought of such a thing.

shoot at around f/14-f/18 and also Shooting in Raw is a must so you can edit the final image and adjust the lighting problems.
I use f/14 160/s shutter speed and iso 400 and it seems to work for me this is also with a flash gun attached.
The Dio Kicks Ass Dan its one of the better subjects to do and you are doing a cracking job with it

OH NUTS! Now I can't finish my Panther Not 'til February anyway. No point in putting it in the same monthly contest as that bad boy. Nah kidding. About the not finishing that is, because there is no way I could ever kid about how sweet that dio is.
