...and again...I cleaned up, now the whole chassis to start all over again ! I made a wrong choice by adding a green tone that was too dark. It didn't match the rust tones. I hope to show you an acceptable result the coming days friends. Making a wreck, it's something different...

Battled the chassis the whole day long, I think the result until now is much better, it's to late now to take daylight photos. I'll try to post something tomorrow...
Best regards ! G.

Sorry to hear Guy, looking forward to the new paint work. That's the one thing I learned long ago, always go lighter. You can lighten or darken with filters and washes. But much easier to darken a light color.

Hi there Rob, I still don't understand why I went for that tone of green, I know how easy it is to rework a light color, and how hard it is sometimes to make a dark one lighter. I must say when I sprayed on the first green, it wasn't bad at all, but while rubbing to make the paint peel off here and there, it got darker, very strange...was it the underlaying rust color I let the paint dry very carefully. Starting all over again when not completely satisfied is what I do, it's a part of me. Whats in my mind needs to appear on my work table. Anyway, I just arrived home from a party and I checked todays work again, I'm quite happy with it, it's going as planned now...or just maybe I'm drunk ((LOL)). We have a saying in Belgium and I try to translate : Als de wijn is in de man, is de wijsheid in de kan / If wine is in the man, his wisdom is in the can ! Best regards ! G.

Hi ChrisS, I let it dry for about one hour, maybe it wasn't long enough ?

I didn't seal between the rust and the green, only sprayed on hairspray. My second attempt worked out well by spraying on Vallejo matt varnish between them.

That's exactly how I did it now and was no problem anymore ! Today I've continued the paint work and weathering of the chassis. Here's an impression, not done yet, not by far... Best regards ! G.

oh yeah, I'm liking this more and more. Sometimes (most) it's best to use a clear coat. I don't do it that often as I have gotten it down pretty good, for the type of effects I'm after. I do let the HS and paint dry for a day or so. This is because for some effects I use straight iso to chip the paint. I don't use the normal scrubbing method and work in small sections creating the chipped dimensional effect. It's in practice, knowing in advance how you will do it and like you, having a mantal image as to how it should look. Just thought I'd share that useless info (LOL)
Love the new green and look forward to the yellow paint.

Hi guys, just got back from the hospital, nothing but good news so I'm a happy man !
It's good to know the chassis looks ok ! I am still touching up the lump here and there to be sure it's fine before I switch over to the driver's compartiment. I want to create some seat damage first and then there will be paint again !
