Althought the M26 is on the bench, the JT is not far away. Getting all the ground work items together and planning the process. It's a larger base than I normally do so I have to plan it so it doesn't start to dry too fast. Also I want to make some pine tree branches and need to get the materials fr that......snowing at the moment so the trip to the back yard has been put off.

Guess what hit the bench................yep the JT. Thought since there are only 3 weeks left until the AMPS Nats I should get this one done. I am playing around with some things to cover the base, namely pine tree branches. This is very new to me so I'm not sure about them. I have a few small branches done and when dry will paint, or give the wood a dark wash. I should have picked up the static grass I saw at the last show...oh well. Will post a pic later when it dries and see what you guys think.

Been some time since I last updated this build. Started working on the base but mainly trying to think of how I wanted it to look. I started trying to make some pine tree branches but am not very happy with them. These are to be placed on the ground and not actually for making a tree....I'm ot that crazy. Might add a couple of trees, or what's left of them. One will be burnt on one side. here I started to add some earth to the road section. Still a lot to do on this one. I will work on it again when I know I have a few hours at the bench, I really hate to do base small sections at a time. As always, stay tuned for more fun.

Gents thanks for the comments, most welcome as always my friends. Couldn't come up with a plan or of what i wanted to add to this so I'll just go with the flow and see what happens. Yep made a trip to the yard for a suitable branch for the splintered trees ;D Also have a bucket of roots that are still drying out. These will get used here too.

Many thanks John and Guy.
Last night I thought the one corner of the road section needed something, so I started making a telegraph pole but think it's too big and will throw off the dio. So I snapped the pole halfway down and splittered the wood and it's bent over. Will take a pic later today to see what you guys think. Will have to redo the top section where the wires will be. Will also get some primer and a pic of the fig up too.

Hi Rob, it's great to see this baby back on the bench! In regards to the branches you made, were they the branches of pine trees? It's just an idea, but I dabbled with pine tree branches a while back. I used Mininatur grass tufts glued to branches of twisted copper wire, as below: It's just an idea, anyway looking forward to your next update. Cheers JT

Looks very cool John. the branches will be n the ground or on the tank. I thought of using the Tufts of grass but after doing the CW road base, I'm almost out ot them. I won't be ordering any for a while so I thought I'd try something else with what was at hand. Will keep that pic on hand for ref when I do get more tufts in.
Thanks buddy
