In my most humble opinion: I would lose the pole. Everything else seems to be in balance.

I'm agreeing with you guys. Spud it started to be in a forest but now it's on the side of a dirt road. Was looking at ref pics and found many pics of tank on the sides of roads. Some are tree lined and overgrown like here.

Not counting my vote, it's two against and one for the pole. A second option I will make up this weekend is a white road marker. The front of the JT in the open area will have smaller trees and stuff.

I like the way the pole broke, eventually you can do this with a tree too, instead of the pole ? The pole looks good too, it depends on what story you want to tell...it'll be great anyway !

The pole might steal the attention of the tank... I agree with the guys, a broken tree would even though the pole looks great..

Hey Rob, I'm kinda of sitting on the fence regarding the pole. It might look better if the pole is snaped complety off. A white road marker in place of the pole would look good too.

Nice to see the JT again. Love the figure and the broken tree trunks in the front: concerning the pole...not too sure about that as well. I also think it might steal the attention from the JT itself Cheers

Nice job on the tank rob. It's almost like you've done this sort of thing before. ;D I definately like the pole. It adds extra interest and you've done a realistic job "snapping " it. In my opinion, as soon as you put a build in a dio, you are already taking a certain amount of attention away from the model. That is why I like to take photos of my builds by themselves with a neutral background. Having said that, I believe the pole adds that extra bit character to the seen making more interesting veiwing. Just my opinion.

Hi Rob, I'm not sure about the pole either. Could it be bent further till the top touches the ground? I've noticed that minitures can be given more realism if they are given lots of weight. Like sag in tracks and tow cables, etc.
I can see fallen power lines draped with lots of sag over the tank, fallen branches etc over the ground, a real scene of heaviness and calamity!
Okay I'll stop trying to help now ;D ;D ;D Your a genius mate, you'll work out something awesome for sure!!
Cheers JT

Cheers fellas. I'm going without the pole and instead a sort wood marker pole. Am going to start the terrain in a bit, I've added a couple of rocks to add high and shape to the otherwise flat ground. wish me luck.
JT yeah it can be bent over and explored that already, but it's just too much for that small area.

LOL...thanks John and Spud. I don't think it's up to my standards of show worthy, at least for the Nat's. This could change when it's actually finished and has the fig on it. I just need to get it done and out of the way.

That looks really good Rob is that sifted dirt around the tank? do you use diluted PVA to stick the dirt down? keep up the awesome work.

Thanks G, Jack and Dan. Dan I use a mix of sifted dirt, plaster, earth toned acrylics, Matt medium and PVA glue. To add texture I use Crumpled ceiling tile.
