Sweet job, my PB. Great job on finishing this beast up. It looks every bit the part of a cold/dreary Russian winter. Of course I have to imagine this beast in a morass of mud somewhere on the steppe. Or after some nasty street fighting in Germany early '45.

Thanks so much guys. Really appreciate the compliments. And y'all missed something. But so did I Even after it was pointed out to me earlier... I forgot to paint the periscopes that I didn't mask before painting. Fixed now. And since I took those pic... I got a new camera and baby I'm lovin' it. Much better pics without all the fidgeting in a photo editor.

Gary, Bill... Thanks a pile for the compliments. Ever have an idea that worked out the way you hoped from concept to execution? Not too often for me. Mmmm, rarely. OK... maybe never But I am fairly pleased with the way this turned out. The basic idea was to carve out the stones from damp Durham's Water Putty. It might not be an original idea cuz if I can think of it, likely someone else already did. What do you think. The shiny bits are form the oils still being a bit wet. And I know the trailer is busted but wanted to see what the scale looked like. This is about a 3x4" test piece.

They look in scale and about the right size. The key if you go larger with it will be to keeping some irregularity in the pattern but that's the only thing I can think of to watch out for. Nice job Marc!

that Panther just rocks...can't say more, it's just sublime!!! Love the cobblestone experiment, looks very realistic indeed. Can you do castings of it for the SMC crew? ;D Cheers

Nice base, Marc. Maybe next time you could make the cobblestones' rows diagonal, to make it less predictable?
