Howdy, Well, In an effort to help a friend with a certain project, I came up with the daft idea that slapping a kit together as a canvas to help show what I was talking about, it led right into joining a nice little Group Build over on Spud's site, the Irish Scale Modeller. Wednesday I cracked the kit..... I figured this would make a decent test bed for the project along with a nice entry into the group build. This is not meant to be a 100% accurate depiction but will more than suffice for what I need it for. I tossed some glue in the box and kicked the kit across the floor and out popped.... Thursday I popped some primer on her....she's a bit wet in this pic! About noon today I headed downstairs and began some paint I laid down a rust base.... And finally the beginning to some burnt rusty sections.... This is where I left her, except with a clear coat on. Plenty more to do on this but will stick this in where I can. Thanks for tuning in!!

Love the way you just 'throw' these things together and make them look terrific, makes me feel really useless.
I will continue to watch so I can feel even worse....

This again shows that old kits can survive without tons of photo eched parts ! Already paint on it, and they say I'm fast these days !!!

Looking good brotha. Hey T, have you tried AB'ing the two rust colors that care in the wheel & track set ? those two colors are awesome. They are actually matt and look better than the similar colors in the rust set. I've been using them thinned for wash and filters.

ER - Thanks! Yup...I just keep building thing!! Mence - Sorry bout that my friend!! ;D Thanks for the kindness!!! I can always use the encouragement!! Tobias - Thank you!! From what I hear, this may end up somewhat like one you have done in the past buddy!! Iraqi Sand Panzer!! ;D G - True as always...Old kits are still great! If not for a decent build and have fun, they make for a great testbed for playing around with things!! Thanks for the kindness!! I will try and slow up the pace for you!! ;D Luigi - LOL....yeah, no Banana this time. That was a great picture though!! Might attempt that on the next go around!! Thanks for hanging out and for the gentle pat on the back,,,,it goes a long way!! ;D Dan - Thanks, glad to have you along for the ride!! Boss - Thanks!!! LOL...those two colors are sweet!! I was playing with the rust set on something and pulled those two out...wicked!! Track and Wheel set is THE best!! Been mixing with enamels and oils but not the acrylics....nice bid on that!! Might give it a go! Nate - Thank you very much!! Wait no more........ After some of the usual messing around...clear coat and Hair spray always need to pop a little color!!! Seemed like a decent base for what I am doing. A couple things stand in the way...one is the chipping of the base! Guess what....another clear coat!! Wife will kill me soon with the amount of hair spray I use . Here comes a top coat....for now! ;D Chip chip chip chip chip chip................. The double coat worked nicely as the are numerous spots that show through not only the rust, but the $BO color as well. Time for a little clean up... and then washy washy!! I will give this a quick wash and then I get to play!! ;D As always....thank for hanging out for a bit!!!

Luigi - Thank you!! Appreciate it my friend!!! Thank you Chris!! Yeah the desert colors lend themselves nicely to rusting!! Good contrast!!! Thanks Matt!!! LOL...wheels? Nahhh....we don't need no wheels!! Explanation below!! Thank you Paul!! I will keep my eyes open for it!! Let me know if there is a pic of something....like I said, I am helping a friend and just slapping something together and working a Group Build with the "leftovers". Tons of pics and only showing a couple here! This is just the paint fun...the best fun is still yet to come!! A basic explanation...when I decided to actually build something out of this by joining the group build on the ISM forum I thought this would be perfect to mess with..... For discussion purposes only So something quick, something fun and a helping hand!! Works!

Figured it was quick and dirty, plus only had some bandies on this and then the picture was just looking at me!! Don't get too close to the monitor...you will go blind!! That would suck! Trying to figure out what the hell you glued your fingers too

That is a great idea for a quick build. Man that gun barrel is long eh? (no comments please) I like the yellow bit in the middle. Adds a nice touch of colour.

I supposed you were building a tank buried in the sand, seeing you had omitted all the lower hull That's a great idea, I think I'll steal it in the future
